What did our critic think of DISNEY'S NEWSIES THE MUSICAL at Sundance Amphitheater?

Filled with high-energy singing and dancing that explodes out of an inspirational story based on real events, MTW's new production of this Disney stage musical is a guaranteed fun time, thanks to a terrific ensemble, and memorable music from Alan Menken and Jack Feldman. The show continues at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center thru July 28, 2024.

Directed by Daisy Buckët and Artistic Director Tim Scott, this production brings the critically-acclaimed, Tony Award winning musical to Kansas City for the first time in over a decade.

Funny Girl is a solidly entertaining vehicle for a high-profile performance by Katerina McCrimmon as beloved vaudeville performer Fanny Brice. Now playing at the Kennedy Center, this popular musical (from the original stage version starring Barbra Streisand and her Oscar-winning performance in the 1968 hit film –and the recent hit on Broadway starring Lea Michele) is a lively, sassy, and brassy summer musical treat.
