Initial honorees for the 6th Annual Location Managers Guild International Awards (LMGI) were announced today by LMGI President Mike Fantasia.  Acclaimed Oscar®-nominated director Peter Weir (Witness, Dead Poets Society, The Truman Show, Master and Commander) will receive the Eva Monley Award, which recognizes and honors industry members who support the work of location professionals. Location Manager Michael J. Meehan (Dead Poets Society, The Perfect Storm, Pirates of the Caribbean, Master and Commander) will receive the 2019 LMGI Lifetime Achievement Award. The LMGI Awards spotlight international features, television and commercials in which the creative use of filming locations set the tone, enrich the character and enhance the narrative. Winners of additional awards will be revealed during the formal ceremony on Saturday evening, September 21, 2019 at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica.  *Nominations will be announced on July 18, 2019 (Please note date change).

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) will present the Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert featuring screenings of the complete films with Oscar-winning composer John Williams' musical scores performed live to the films. The concert will be led by acclaimed conductor Benjamin Northey. Experience the Force at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 4 to 6 July. Jedis will flock to witness "Star Wars: A New Hope" in Concert on May 9 and 13 at 7 PM with an already nearly sold out performance on Saturday May 11. The famous, Oscar-winning score by John Williams, performed by Utah Symphony, will be paired with the full-length motion picture film on the big screen at Abravanel Hall. On its fifth of five original shows broadcasting for the first time from Las Vegas (Friday, 4/5/19), ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” closed out the week with its highest-rated telecast of the week on Friday in Households (2.0/5) in the 56 Metered Markets. Friday's telecast grew over the prior day by 11% in Households (1.8/5), as well as opening night on Monday by 11% (1.8/5). Friday's show welcomed Celine Dion and Chris Tucker.
