Eric Nathan Appointed Artistic Director Of Collage New Music

Collage New Music has appointed Eric Nathan as the new Artistic Director, beginning in the 2024-25 concert season. Nathan, a highly respected figure in American music, will oversee artistic planning and programming, conduct the ensemble, commission new works, and establish new partnerships.

Tickets On Sale For Boston Symphony Orchestra's 2023 Tanglewood Popular Artist Series

Boston Symphony Orchestra recently announced its 85th Tanglewood Summer Season, including the Popular Artist Series which kicks off on Thursday, June 22, 2023, with NPR’s oddly informative news quiz program Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! This summer the concert series returns, bringing some of the most engaging artists in pop and rock to perform at Tanglewood with seating in the Koussevitzky Music Shed and on the surrounding lawn.

Michael Reichman Appointed Vice President Of Artistic Operations And General Manager At The Charlotte Symphony 

The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra has announce the appointment of Michael Reichman as the CSO's Vice President of Artistic  Operations and General Manager, beginning January 9, 2023. In this role, Mr. Reichman will  work closely with the President and CEO and Artistic Leadership to design and implement the  CSO's artistic vision and to cultivate and deepen the Symphony's relationships with performing  arts venue partners, local arts and culture organizations, and key community partners. Michael  Reichman joins the Charlotte Symphony from the York Symphony Orchestra where he served as  Executive Director for seven years.

This discussion will focus on why this genre of jazz is deserving of more appreciation from the jazz world.

American Symphony Orchestra Salutes The Great Duke Ellington at Carnegie Hall, March 24

Music Director Leon Botstein will lead the American Symphony Orchestra on March 24 in a tribute to the genre-defying genius of the great Duke Ellington with an all-Ellington symphonic concert at Carnegie Hall, where the composer played a series of annual concerts and premiered many of his greatest works, including Black, Brown, and Beige and New World A-Comin'.

NEC Jazz Orchestra Celebrates the Centennial of Massachusetts Jazz Master Jaki Byard, March 3 at Jordan Hall

The NEC Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Ken Schaphorst celebrates the centennial of Jaki Byard in a live concert on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. at Jordan Hall, 290 Huntington Avenue, Boston. Byard was one of the cornerstones of the groundbreaking Afro-American Music and Jazz Studies Department assembled by Carl Atkins and Gunther Schuller at NEC in 1969.
