BWW Review: MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS at Asolo Repertory Theatre

Who isn't infatuated with trains - such a unique and even elegant way to travel. Although these coaches aren't leaving from Platform 9 ¾ for Hogwarts and your fellow passengers won't be Harry Potter and his curious classmates, the ride will be just as thrilling, if not more so. You'll be joining the infamous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot and a host of very cleverly enigmatic travelers aboard a train filled with mystery and a touch of mayhem. You may have taken this ride before but not quite like this. Asolo Repertory starts its winter season on the fast track with Agatha Christie's MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS, featuring a new off the rails adaptation by two-time Tony Award-winner Ken Ludwig and pushing full steam ahead with direction by Asolo Rep Associate Artist Peter Amster.

BWW Review: SUMMER SHORTS at City Theatre

Bobby Dazzler? That's a Brit, Kiwi, or Aussie way of saying she's a beaut. And there's nine out of ten them on show in City Theatre's SUMMER SHORTS at the Arsht Center.

BWW Review: SUMMER SHORTS at City Theatre

Summer has arrived in South Florida, and that means three things: schools are closed, temperatures are in the 90's and City Theatre has opened its annual Summer Shorts Festival at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts' Carnival Studio Theater. This year's Summer Shorts (City Theatre's 24th) features eight short one act plays--including two musicals.

BWW Review: SUMMER SHORTS at Adrienne Arsht Center

Miamians pride themselves in living in the city where everyone vacations. If there is a list of cities that know how to party, Miami would be at the top. And there is no greater time to celebrate being in the Magic City than in Summer. Summer in Miami means schools out, trips to the beach, tan lines, and SUMMER SHORTS! SUMMER SHORTS has been the official start to the theatre summer season for twenty-four years and last night's opening night was no exception. While the Arsht Center was celebrating National Pride Month outside with all kinds of fun events from Drag Shows to live music, inside the opening night of SUMMER SHORTS was in full swing. The who's who of Miami Theatre gathered in a packed house. Stepping into what felt like a Beach Party film of the 1960s, the party was underway. Images of typical summer fun from Surfboards and flipflops found everywhere along with palm tree cutouts and a photo opt right at the entrance. City Theatre and Adrienne Arsht Center's SUMMER SHORTS 2019 runs May 30 through June 23 at Carnival Studio Theater on the Susan Westfall Stage (named after City Theatre's Co-Founder). America's Short Play Festival is here with an all-new SUMMER SHORTS lineup for 2019. Featuring exciting, funny, provocative and always original 10-minute comedies, dramas, and mini-musicals, SUMMER SHORTS is Miami's favorite fun-filled summer theatrical experience!

The summer theater season starts with a fresh batch of City Theatre's SHORTS at the Arsht Center!

BWW Review: EVERY BRILLIANT THING at Adrienne Arsht Center

A quiet night watching a movie with my husband after the girls are asleep. A trip to the nail salon for an afternoon of pampering. A book so good that you rather lose sleep then set it down. A Sunday afternoon spent enjoying the day instead of dreading the week. Things worth living for…I can't help but keep the list going after seeing Zoetic Stage's 'Every Brilliant Thing'. Sometimes we can lose sight of the big picture. There's so much in life that can be soul crushing, but there is so much good to be lived and experienced. The message was very much alive in me and, I dare to say, the audience in general as we left the Carnival Theatre at the Adrienne Arsht Center.

EVERY BRILLIANT THING Begins Feb. 14

Zoetic Stage and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County are proud to present the South Florida premiere of EVERY BRILLIANT THING, an acclaimed, one-man play by Duncan Macmillan. Playing February 14 - March 3, 2019 in the intimate Carnival Studio Theater (Ziff Ballet Opera House), EVERY BRILLIANT THING continues Zoetic Stage's 2018-2019 season at the Arsht Center as part of the Center's Theater Up Close Series.
