Located just 90 minutes north of New York City in Poughkeepsie's Waryas Park, Jazz in the Valley (JITV), upstate New York's premiere festival, will celebrate its 25th anniversary for two days.
On Sunday August 20th, 2023, Jazz in the Valley will return to Poughkeepsie's waterfront for an incredible afternoon of music, art, food and wine - celebrating the very best that the Hudson Valley has to offer.
RANSART & Cultural Services (TRANSART) has announced its second annual Pinkster celebration with a week-long, family-friendly series of free events in Ulster County, New York. Known as Pinkster: Joy Is An Act of Resistance, the celebration features a variety of engaging activities to take place in and around Kingston from Saturday, May 27 to Sunday, June 4, 2023.
This year's edition features the return of live music, with a diverse assemblage of world-class and emerging jazz musicians, performing in spacious, nine-acre Waryas Park, located in downtown Poughkeepsie, in New York's historic Hudson River Valley, just 90 miles north of New York City.
Once a year, in mid-August,TRANSART & Cultural Services fills Waryas Park in Poughkeepsie with art, food, and the music of living legends of the jazz art-form. This year, TRANSART continues this time-tested tradition with the 19th annual Jazz in the Valley. The non-profit organization - dedicated to promoting awareness of the art, history, and popular culture of people of African ancestry - presents two stages of world-class jazz on Sunday, August 18, from Noon-6pm. Gates open at 11 AM, and the event is rain or shine.
