National Theatre of Scotland Sets Edinburgh Festivals Lineups

The National Theatre of Scotland is celebrating 10 years of presenting acclaimed theatre at the Edinburgh Festivals. This year the Company brings the world premiere of ANYTHING THAT GIVES OFF LIGHT in a co-production with the Edinburgh International Festival and the TEAM, and two acclaimed music filled dramas about refugees and migration to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, as part of the Made in Scotland Showcase, both at the Assembly Hall; GLASGOW GIRLS, in a co-production with Pachamama Productions, Regular Music and Theatre Royal Stratford East, and LAST DREAM (ON EARTH), presented by Kai Fischer.

Hawaii Performing Arts Festival to Open with AN EVENING AT THE STORK CLUB

Now in its 12th season, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival has garnered great acclaim for its world-class performances on the Big Island each summer. This year will be no exception for the festival, as the season kicks off with An Evening At the Stork Club, starring Justin John Moniz, Ashley Lambert, and David Castillo.

FIAF to Screen Opera de Paris' THE DAMNATION OF FAUST, 6/9

?The French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF) is thrilled to present an HD Opera screening straight from the Opera de Paris, capturing every detail of Alvis Hermanis' stunning production of The Damnation of Faust, on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 7pm at FIAF's Florence Gould Hall, 55 East 59th Street, betw. Madison and Park.

Michelle DeYoung to Replace Eric Owens with the New York Philharmonic

Mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung will replace The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence Eric Owens, who has withdrawn due to illness, on advisement from his doctor, in selections from Mahler's Des Knaben Wunderhorn, led by John Storga?rds in his Philharmonic debut, Today, May 12, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 13 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, May 14 at 8:00 p.m.

Ecce Ensemble Ends Season with KINETICS, Today

Cambridge, MA (FOR RELEASE 4.11.16) — As the 2015-16 contemporary music ensemble-in-residence at Cambridge's Le Laboratoire, the Ecce Ensemble completes its season with a diverse program of new chamber works by six emerging compositional voices. Inspired by Le Lab's current Random International installation, 150 Milliseconds, the concert's repertoire evokes a panoply of physical and psychological states both human and seemingly otherworldly. Performed by seven-member Ecce Ensemble and special guest vocalist Amanda DeBoer Bartlett, the program includes the world premiere of Already Root by Maxwell Dulaney, New England premieres by Erin Gee, Hillary Zipper, and Anna-Louise Walton, as well as works by Ecce's executive director John Aylward, and the winner of Ecce's 2016 International Call for Scores, Nuno Costa. Theatre Smash & Canadian Stage to Present DAS DING (THE THING)

Theatre Smash, in partnership with Canadian Stage and in association with the Thousand Islands Playhouse, are proud to present the North American premiere of Philipp Lohle's globetrotting play Das Ding (The Thing) translated from German by Birgit Schreyer Duarte and directed by Theatre Smash Artistic Producer Ashlie Corcoran. Kicking off the company's two-year residency at Canadian Stage, Das Ding (The Thing) runs April 12 - May 1 at the Berkeley Street Upstairs Theatre (Previews: April 12 & 13, Media night: April 14).

Ensemble for the Romantic Century to Present THE HEART IS NOT MADE OF STONE, 4/27

New York City, NY — Celebrating its 15th season, the Ensemble for the Romantic Century (ERC) returns to BAM Fisher for six performances of Anna Akhmatova: The Heart is Not Made of Stone. Written by Eve Wolf and directed by Donald T. Sanders, this multi-media production examines the troubled relationship between artistic creation and totalitarianism through the perspective of the Russian poet Anna Akhmatova (1889-1966). This tale of passion, love, political repression, and redemption is interwoven with music by Russian composers' Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich.
