The newest member of the company - ironically - is its co-producer. Jim Kierstead has become synonymous with quality work on Broadway with credits that include KINKY BOOTS (Tony, Olivier), PIPPIN (Tony), WAITRESS, INDECENT, THE GREAT COMET, THE VISIT, YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU (all Tony nominated), M. BUTTERFLY, IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU, SIDE SHOW, ROCKY. Plus London: DREAMGIRLS, YANK!, THRILL ME. Off-Broadway: UNEXPECTED JOY, THRILL ME, YANK! Upcoming: PRETTY WOMAN, AIN'T TOO PROUD, SPARKLER. This summer, Planet Connections Theatre Festivity (PCTF), the brainchild of arts professional Glory Kadigan, turns 10 years old. In that decade, PCTF has successfully changed the landscape of the theatre festival and all of New York independent theatre. The multi-award-winning theatre festival will celebrate in a big way by premiering more than 50 timely and topical plays and musicals written by the next generation of playwrights. Each play contains a powerful message serving as a parable of various world themes.

'Each season, Playwrights For A Cause continues to raise awareness on topics of social justice while providing an opportunity for theater artists to share their creations. I couldn't be more excited about this seasons line-up of brilliant playwrights,' says Glory Kadigan, founder and curator of the annual Playwrights for a Cause benefit, hosted by Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. 'I'd also like to thank the Associate Artistic Director of the Theater at the 14th Street Y, David Stallings, for providing a home for our event.'

Shaun Peknic, a theatre director with a focus on the development of new plays and musicals, joins Planet Connections Theatre Festivity in 2018 as artistic director.

After a banner year for their summer festivity and Playwrights for a Cause, Planet Connections Theatre Festivity will be hosting its annual awards ceremony honoring the finest of an outstanding season.

The annual Playwrights for a Cause benefit, hosted by Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, addresses powerful social and topical issues in our society through the works of prominent playwrights. This year, the event will feature stories of standing up to injustice written by celebrated authors, Catherine Filloux, Lyle Kessler, Jose Rivera, and Regina Taylor. This year, the event will be Sunday, July 23, and will benefit the New York Civil Liberties Union with 'The Protest Plays,' stories of standing up to injustice written by celebrated authors, CATHERINE FILLOUX, Lyle Kessler, JOSE RIVERA, and Regina Taylor.

Erik Ehn's Quiet House directed by Glory Kadigan premieres tonight, June 23, at the 2017 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity (The Festivity runs June 12 - July 9 at The Clemente, 107 Suffolk Street, NYC). The presentation will be tonight, June 23rd, at 7:00 p.m.
