The Theater at the 14th Street Y continues to honor the edgy, diverse, and rich history of innovative culture-making in the East Village with the 201 9-20 Season from September 6, 2019 through June 2020. All productions are chosen through a submission process and the curated season is co-presented by the Theater at the 14th Street Y. From a wide range of artists the season is a deliberate program of artistic discourse around the theme of Life and Death.

The third annual Sheen Center Theater Festival takes place June 20 - 23 at The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture (18 Bleecker Street, at the corner of Elizabeth Street, NYC). Celebrating the voices of established Catholicplaywrights in staged reading presentations, this year's full-length plays feature works by playwright Caridad Svich(OBIE Award Winner), Nathan Yungerberg (Cherry Lane mentee under Stephen Adley Guirgus), William Baer (Guggenheim Fellowship recipient), and Erik Ehn (Whiting Award winner).

Vivian's Music, 1969 is a two-hander that tells a compelling story about the struggle of African Americans living in the segregated Midwest in the late '60's. Inspired by real events, the play is written by Monica Bauer, directed by Glory Kadigan, and stars Rusell Jordan and Kailah S. King.

TenthPlanet: Planet Connections 10th Annual Theatre Festivity played to packed houses and great acclaim for each production. Another sold out house was achieved for the company's annual 'Playwrights for a Cause' event, this year, benefiting the Ali Forney Center. The banner season culminates with the Planet Awards.
