CAMP BROADWAY, the award-winning New York-based theater arts enrichment company, will feature 50 young singers, ages 12-16, in Radio City's Sounds of Christmas on Friday, November 29 and Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 7:30 PM. The Camp Broadway Kids Ensemble will perform a 5-minute a cappella medley of songs about Santa during the pre-show of The Radio City Christmas Spectacular on stage at the world-famous Radio City Music Hall in New York City. This performance follows a day-long intensive of vocal rehearsals with Camp Broadway's creative team of Broadway professionals including Music Directors Christine Riley and Julianne Merrill, supported by Line Producer, Isaak Olson and Featured Player, Anna Raful.
Theatre Calgary's Artistic Director Stafford Arima (Allegiance, Broadway; Carrie, Off-Broadway revival; Altar Boyz, Off-Broadway), along with Solo Productions' Mary Young Leckie (Maudie, Mary's Wedding), have just announced the creative team and casting for The Louder We Get, based on the true story of Marc Hall, with book by Kent Staines, lyrics by Akiva Romer-Segal, and music by Colleen Dauncey.
The highly anticipated season-closer of Billy Elliot the Musical has been a long-time coming for Theatre Calgary. In anticipation of opening night of Theatre Calgary's production of Billy Elliot, I sat down with Dance Captain Amber Bissonnette to talk about her career and life as a dancer. 'I got started in dance when I was five. My second cousin's mom owned a dance studio and my mom and my sister had just moved to Edmonton - where I'm from - and she was looking for a way to keep us busy. I started singing and acting when I was about thirteen and it was all downhill from there.'

Les Dames d'Escoffier will honor Philadelphia culinary pioneer Chef Esther McManus on Sunday, September 25th at Outstanding in Her Field, a new annual event to recognize talented women making a difference in the region's culinary field. The locally sourced harvest farm dinner will be set amidst the vines of Inn of Grace Winery (50 Sweetwater Road, Glen Mills) and paired with its fine wines and will celebrate McManus' artistry and legacy. McManus is a quiet and behind-the-scenes rockstar in the culinary world - she taught Julia Child how to make the perfect croissant, is considered by many to be the mother of Philly's artisan bread movement, and currently inspires legions of young cooks at the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill.
