Variety And PBS Socal Announce New Season And Talent Line-Up For VARIETY STUDIO: ACTORS ON ACTORS

Variety and PBS SoCal announced today the actor lineup and schedule for the tenth season of their EMMY®Award-winning Variety Studio: Actors on Actors. The new season will include exclusive one-on-one conversations between top acting talent from this year's most notable television  shows who are expected to contend this Emmy season. The first two episodes will premiere on PBS SoCal on Tuesday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m. and episodes three and four will premiere on Thursday, June 20 at 7:00 p.m.  All episodes will stream on pbssocal.organd on the free PBS Video app following their premieres.

RBG, GAME OF THRONES, AVENGERS Lead Nominees for 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards

MTV unveiled the categories and nominees for the “2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards,” celebrating pop culture's biggest night with the performances, stories and moments that drove the conversation this year. Fans can begin voting immediately at vote.mtv.com, and by direct messaging @MTVAwards on Twitter and Facebook Messenger.

Remy Hii To Star In JANE THE NOVELA

Deadline reports Remy Hii will be the male co-lead opposite Hunter Parrish in Jane the Novela, the CW's Jane the Virgin spinoff pilot. Jane The Virgin co-star Ivonne Coll has also been cast as series regular, along with Benito Martinez (The Shield) and Holland Roden (Teen Wolf).

MISS BALA Heads to Digital 4/16 and Blu-ray & DVD 4/30

Golden Globe® winner[1], Gina Rodriguez (Annihilation,“Jane the Virgin”) takes charge in the high-octane action adventure, MISS BALA, debuting on Digital April 16 and coming to Blu-ray and DVD April 30, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Caught in the perilous world of a brutal cross-border cartel, a young woman finds powers she never knew she had as she seeks to rescue her friend. Hollywood's newest heartthrob, Ismael Cruz-Córdova (Mary Queen of Scots), stars alongside Rodriguez as the cartel kingpin, whose growing attraction to his strong-willed female hostage raises the stakes for both as the CIA, DEA, and rival cartels close in. Rodriguez and Cruz-Córdova are joined by co-stars, Anthony Mackie (Avengers: Infinity War) and Matt Lauria (“Friday Night Lights”) in this female-driven action story directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) from a screenplay by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Contrapelo).

Marcia Cross To Co-Star in JANE THE NOVELA

Marcia Cross is set to star opposite Jacqueline Grace Lopez in Jane the Novela, the CW's Jane the Virgin spinoff pilot, according to Deadline.

BLACK PANTHER Leads Nominations for the NAACP IMAGE AWARDS

The nominees for the 50th NAACP Image Awards were exclusively announced today at the Television Critics Association's (TCA) TV One's joint press conference with Derrick Johnson, President and CEO of the NAACP and Alfred Liggins, Chairman and CEO of TV One. The winners will be revealed during the Two-Hour LIVE TV special airing on TV One on Saturday, March 30, 2019.

JANE THE VIRGIN and RIVERDALE Spinoffs in the Works at CW

The CW has greenlit four pilots that are all based on well known titles, including two spinoffs of existing CW series, Riverdale and Jane the Virgin, and a Nancy Drew drama and The Lost Boys reboot, according to Deadline.
