The International Guest Artists have been announced for Cape Town City Ballet’s Winter Season.

Cape Town City Ballet has announced a change in the programme for its production of Maina Gielgud’s GISELLE. GISELLE will be presented from 18 March until 9 April 2022 in the Artscape Opera House. Ksenia Ovsyanick, Principal Ballerina with Staatsballett Berlin, will dance the role of Giselle opposite Vadim Muntagirov (Principal of The Royal Ballet) as Albrecht at the performances on 19, 21, 23 and 25 March. She replaces Tatiana Melnik, who was originally scheduled to perform as part of the programme.

International guest artists Vadim Muntagirov (Principal of The Royal Ballet), Tatiana Melnik (Principal at Hungarian National Ballet) and Brandon Lawrence (Principal at Birmingham Royal Ballet) join the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Brandon Phillips, alongside the dancers of Cape Town City Ballet at select performances.

Elmhurst Ballet School, the school in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet, has announced the following appointments to its Board: Mark Baldwin OBE, award-winning choreographer and director, and visual artist; and Brandon Lawrence, a Birmingham Royal Ballet Principal dancer.

Adapted to an hour in length and with a narrator to help young audiences follow the story, My First Ballet: Cinderella is the perfect introduction to the magic of ballet.

Milwaukee Ballet invites emerging choreographers from around the world to submit samples of their work to enter our competition. Artistic Director Michael Pink reviews each submission and chooses three finalists. These finalists have three weeks to create a new work which will premiere at The Pabst. They begin by selecting the names of our dancers at random. Once each choreographer has a cast of eight (four ladies and four gentlemen), their work begins.

American Ballet Theatre (ABT) Studio Company opened their three-day performance schedule on the evening of April 15, 2016, at The Joyce Theater. The troupe offered a  program of five balletic acts that included one world premiere and two New York City premieres. With a full house, numerous supporters of the ABT attended. I recognized a few corps de ballet members of the company, principal dancer of ABT Gillian Murphy, and the extraordinary ballerina Alessandra Ferri in the audience. It was a lovely gesture for them and for many other guests to see the upcoming dancers who could someday be part of the ABT main company.

The American Ballet Theatre Studio Company will present three performances at the Joyce Theater, this weekend, beginning tonight, April 15 and continuing through April 17, 2016. Performance times are 8:00 PM tonight and Saturday, April 16, and 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 17.

From Aurora's christening in the grand hall of the palace, to her jubilant wedding celebrations, the popular fairy tale comes alive on stage.
