IATI Theater in a co-production with The Box Collective presents Hurricane Sleep, a new female-centered experimental play about trauma and how healing begins with the most intimate self to reverberate through dimensions of time and being, written and co-directed by Andrea Goldman.  Julia Watt and Goldman co-direct a cast of five, including George Bass*, Shashwat Gupta, Neysa Lozano, Rachel Schmeling and Heaven Stephens*.  Ten performances will be staged at IATI Theater from May 2-12, 2019.

Performing in support of their latest album, Southland (released April 2018), the tour kicks off on October 24th at Mississippi Studios in Portland, Oregon, heads down the West Coast, and then across the country—stopping in almost 20 markets along the way.  In December, Lou and her band head to Mexico for 2018 Strings & Sol. The Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA), the nation's longest running active arts advocacy organization for Latino actors, have announced that it will honor Obie and Emmy winner Hector Elizondo ('Last Man Standing', 'Chicago Hope', Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride, The Princess Diaries films), five-time Tony nominee Danny Burstein (currently in Cabaret on Broadway), actress Ana Ortiz ('Devious Maids', 'Ugly Betty'), triple threat Bianca Marroquin (currently in Chicago on Broadway), Pedro Pascal ('Game of Thrones'), Cierra Ramirez ('The Fosters') and WNBC-TV anchor Sibila Vargas at the Fifteenth Annual HOLA Awards Gala and Benefit. The HOLA Awards will take place on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 6:30pm at The Battery Gardens, overlooking and located on the waterfront overlooking New York Harbor in Battery Park (opposite 17 State Street in lower Manhattan).

Review - Rooms: a rock romance & Guys and Dolls: a musical fable of Broadway

The opposites attracting plot is probably as old as romantic comedy itself, but even if Rooms: a rock romance follows familiar paths, the Paul Scott Goodman (book/music/lyrics) and Miriam Gordon (book) two-person musical is such a buoyant, funny and upbeat affair that the clichés of the story are conquered by the cleverness and exuberance with which the story is told. Under Scott Schwartz's swift and breezy direction, the 90-minute one-act scoots the audience along on an immensely enjoyable ride.
