MEMORY IS A CULINARY AFFAIR explores the impact of the 1970s dictatorship in Argentina through the eyes of Carina, who was a small child at the time. Now in her mid-30s and living in New York, Carina must decide whether to return to Argentina and her former boyfriend, who is still in love with her, or to stay in New York and make a new life with her current boyfriend. As she ponders her choices, Carina must confront the scars left by events that tore her family apart during her childhood.

The production will feature George Bass*, Ben Bucher*, Michelle Concha, Ydaiber Orozco, Mariana Parma, and Ron Sarcos. MEMORY IS A CULINARY AFFAIR previously premiered to a sold-out audience at Manhattan Repertory Theatre, as part of their 2010 Summerfest.

GRACIELA BERGER WEGSMAN (Playwright) is an award winner playwright and journalist. Her play Memory is a Culinary Affair had its premiere at Manhattan Repertory Theatre in August 2010. The play won an award in the 2007 MetLife Nuestras Voces National Playwriting Competition at Repertorio Español, the leading Spanish-language theatre in New York. Her play The Dream of Claudia Jade won second prize in the Hispano-American Playwriting Competition in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The play also won the prize in the category "Hispanics in the USA, but without stereotypes". As a journalist, Graciela has written articles for many newspapers and magazines in Argentina, Israel and USA. Currently she is a frequent contributor to the NY Daily News specializing in Latino culture and the Daily News/Hora Hispana, a Spanish-language publication owned by the Daily News.

FABIan Gonzalez (Director) studied Theatre at Escuela Integral de Teatro Roberto Arlt, Alejandra Boero Theatre School, HB Studio, Repertorio Español and Teatro IATI. For Teatro IATI, he has performed and directed in Ruandi, Homo Dramaticus, La Luna me está Mirando, El Continente Negro, The Reynosos hunting. He has also worked at TNC, Repertorio Español and Teatro La TEA.

HORSE TRADE THEATER GROUP is a self-sustaining theater development group; with a focus on new work, it has produced a massive quantity of stimulating downtown theater. Horse Trade's Resident Artist Program offers a home to a select group of Independent Theater artists, pooling together a great deal of talent and energy.
