New York Defendants Must Respond By November 20 to Off-Broadway Theatres Pushing to Reopen

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, earlier this month, a group of 12 Off Broadway theaters and comedy club owners went to court arguing that small venues with enhanced air filtration systems should be allowed to open at 25% capacity. The defends are now required to provide their response by November 20, 2020.

On Thursday, November 12, Attorney Jim Mermigis and a group of 12 Off Broadway theaters and comedy club owners will argue that by allowing small venues with enhanced air filtration systems to open at 25% capacity, countless artists and theater professionals will be able to go back to work – enabling venues to earn revenue, so they can begin paying rent to landlords also hit hard by the pandemic – a move they say will also provide customers for the thousands of retail stores, restaurants and garages that surround their venues.

LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST Final Three Performances This Weekend At Gene Frankel Theatre

Thomas G. Waites' rocking adaptation of one of Shakespeare's rarely-performed comedies will play its final three performances this weekend. The hippie lovefest of this re-worked Love's Labour's Lost continues at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street, between Lafayette and Bowery) from October 24-26 at 8pm. The production, featuring a cast full of bright young talent, is made possible with the generous support of The Jeff Hunter Charitable Trust.
