2016 Town Hall Gala to Honor Garrison Keillor's A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION

On Sunday, October 23 at 4pm at the Princeton Club of New York (15 West 43rd Street), The Town Hall will hold its Annual Gala where they will honor Grammy & Peabody Award-winner Garrison Keillor's acclaimed program A Prairie Home Companion with The Town Hall Friend of the Arts Award (over 150 shows were broadcast live from The Town Hall stage).

Bernard Purdue and David Haney Tell their JAZZ STORIES, October 8th @ Joe's Pub

Jazz Stories combines the swinging exciting music with legend Bernard Purdie and company plus some great stories retold by David Haney.  Haney talked to each of these artists and had them to recount the following stories for Cadence Magazine: Sonny Rollins, The Bridge Story; John McLaughlin's story about recording with Miles Davis; Annie Ross Meets Sarah Vaughan, Gunter Hampel remembers Thelonious Monk; Steve Swallow recalls his trip to Jamaica with Herbie Nichols; Dominic Duval on Charles Mingus; and of course Bernard Purdie breaks down the Purdie Shuffle.

Historian George Muschamp to Helm 1776 at Gettysburg Community Theatre

Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non-profit 501c3 organization located in the original Elks Lodge building at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, will present 1776 the musical, to celebrate the 240th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration Of Independence. Performances will be held at GCT Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm July 15-31, 2016. GCT only seats 80. Limited Reserved Seating Tickets are $18 plus tax/fees of the Gettysburg Borough Amusement Tax. Tickets can be ordered online at www.GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org or by calling 717-334-2692 for group sales of 20 or more or visit the box office during box office hours 5-7pm Mondays-Thursdays at GCT. Opening night will include a complimentary wine reception with the cast and crew after the performance.

Long Beach Playhouse to Host Annual Political Players Radio Show in June

On June 15 at 5:30 P.M., the Long Beach Playhouse will present the sixth annual Return to the Long Beach Home Companion at the offices of Keesal Young and Logan. This truly unique event is a fundraiser for the Playhouse which at 87 years is one of the city's oldest arts organizations.
