GUYS AND DOLLS, hailed as one of the greatest musical comedies of all time, kicks off Asolo Rep's highly anticipated 2016-17 season, the fifth and final of its celebrated American Character Project.

The Friars Club hosted a one night only event last night that will be remembered for many years by Ben Vereen.  Chita Rivera brought him to the club for what Ben thought was a small dinner in his honor.  When Ben walked out of the elevator the huge mahogany  doors of the Milton Berle Room and Barbra Streisand Room swung open to a capacity crowd of Friars shouting "SURPRISE" and singing Happy Birthday.   It was an emotional happy celebration as Ben's many friends toasted the legendary performer and humanitarian.  Friar Board Member and Chairman of the Friars Admission Committee Bill Boggs officially made Ben Vereen an Honorary Friar.  As Bill pointed out to Ben in his presentation,  " I have the power to bestow this title on you….. being an Honorary Member entitles you to walk into the club at any time, enjoy a great meal in the Frank Sinatra dinning room…..and pay for it! "

Grammy Award winning trumpeter Chris Botti brings his superb musicianship, his killer band and his on-stage generosity back to The Ridgefield Playhouse stage for one night of can't-miss musical thrills on Today, October 18 at 8 p.m. as part of the Moffly Media Evening of Art, Wine and Jazz Series.

Tudo E Jazz - Um Tributo Musical a Kander & Ebb (And the World Goes 'Round - the Songs of Kander & Ebb) debuts at Sao Paulo stage. Jose Fernandez Torres, better known as Tomatito, is a living legend and one of today's most-admired flamenco guitarists. Known for his mastery of traditional rhythms, his classic work with singer Camaron del la Isla, and his pioneering efforts in establishing Nuevo flamenco by augmenting traditional flamenco with music influenced by classical, jazz, blues, rock, pop, bossa-nova, tango, and fado, makes his first City of Los Angeles appearance with his sextet on Friday, October 21 at 8:00 p.m. at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre.

Husband-and-wife duo John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey make their annual fall pilgrimage toCafe Carlyle with an all-new show, The Arc of a Love Affair, November 22-December 1. They return following last year's universally acclaimed show My Generation.

The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival has now opened its fourth premiere musical at Auburn's Merry-Go-Round Playhouse for the 2016 season with the regional premiere of TENDERLY: THE ROSEMARY CLOONEY MUSICAL. The two-person musical is written Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman and was originally developed and premiered by The Human Race Theatre Company.
