The Second City is a premiere improv troupe from Chicago, and they are back in Des Moines for an all-new show. 'It's Not You, it's Me.-The Second City' opened on April 30 at The Temple Theatre as part of the Prairie Meadows Temple Comedy Series. Comedy Central has secured the exclusive linear television rights to all current seasons of the Netflix original series BoJack Horseman, making the #1 brand in comedy the only place to watch the hit animated series on linear TV. Season One of The Tornante Company-produced series will make its linear television premiere on Comedy Central this fall immediately following the Season 22 debut of South Park. Select episodes will be available to stream on cc.com and the CC App. The deal was negotiated by Lionsgate-owned distributor Debmar-Mercury and Viacom Program Acquisitions Group.
On Friday, June 1, Governor General Julie Payette presented a Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award to Second City CEO and Executive Producer Andrew Alexander. The ceremony took place at Ottawa's Rideau Hall as part of the 2018 Governor General's Performing Arts Awards (GGPAA), Canada's most prestigious recognition for the performing arts. The following evening, Alexander and his fellow laureates were feted at the GGPAA's annual star-studded gala, held at the National Arts Centre.
