Tribeca PAC Sets 2016-17 Season; Tickets Now on Sale

BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, the longest operating performance venue in lower Manhattan, proudly presents Azul Dance Theatre, performing on Friday and Saturday November 11 and 12 at 7:30pm, A Musical History of the Lower East Side, performing on Friday, November 18 at 8:00pm,  Michael "Big Mike" Lynch (American Idol), performing Friday, January 6 at 8pm, Tiempo Libre performing Saturday, February 11 at 8pm, and more! Photo Flash: BROADWAY KIDS FOR ORLANDO: ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE Honors Orlando Victims

On Monday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Don't Tell Mama, several young past and present performers from Broadway joined forces in a benefit cabaret to raise money and show support for the victims, survivors and those suffering as a result of the mass shooting in Orlando this month. The benefit was entitled Broadway Kids for Orlando: All You Need is Love. One hundred percent of the proceeds are being donated to the GLBT Center of Central Florida, and all 49 victims of The Pulse Nightclub shooting were honored in the program. Mirirai Sithole Awarded Classic Stage Company's Rosemarie Tichler Fund Grant

Classic Stage Company has announced that Mirirai Sithole is this year's recipient of the Rosemarie Tichler Fund grant. The Fund was established in 2010 with the mission to assist young actors who have appeared at CSC and who have recently made the transition from their training into the profession. The $3,000 grant can be used by the young artist to continue training or to offset loans they may have incurred while studying their craft. With the grant, CSC hopes to make a difference in the lives of young actors at the start of their careers as well as to heighten awareness in the community to the specific needs of actors.

The event honored actor Jeff Daniels, the late director Nancy Malone, real estate developer Sharif El-Gamal and New York City Department of Correction Deputy Commissioner of Youthful Offender and Young Adult Programming Winette Jackson.

Michael C. Hall Will Lead Reading of Will Eno's GNIT; John Doyle Set to Direct

Michael C. Hall will headline a one-night night only reading of Will Eno's play GNIT, adapted from Henrik Ibsen's PEER GYNT Monday evening, June 20 at 7 pm at CSC (136 East 13th Street) as part of the theater's FIRST LOOK FESTIVAL IBSEN, presented in conjunction with the company current production of PEER GYNT, directed by John Doyle and runs through this Sunday, June 19.

The Old Globe Celebrates Tour of Shakespeare's First Folio Beginning Today

The Old Globe and the San Diego Public Library were selected last year to co-host the only stop in California for FIRST FOLIO! THE BOOK THAT GAVE US SHAKESPEARE, on tour from the Folger Shakespeare Library, a national traveling exhibition organized by the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.

Jonathan Cake & Marsha Stephanie Blake to Star in The Old Globe's MACBETH; Cast & Creative Team Set

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team of the first offering in the 2016 Summer Shakespeare Festival: William Shakespeare's thrilling classic Macbeth, directed by Brian Kulick, Artistic Director of Classic Stage Company and a leading Shakespearean expert. The so-called "Scottish Play" will run June 19 - July 24, 2016, in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. Previews run June 19 - 24. Opening night is Saturday, June 25 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets start at $29, on sale now to the general public.

Something Rotten and Spotlight star Brian d'Arcy James along with this season's break-out and genuflecting sensation Jennifer Simard from Broadway's Disaster will announce the The Outer Critics Circle nominees for the 2015-16 season this morning, April 19th (11 AM) at New York's legendary Algonquin Hotel (59 W 44th Street.) Outer Critics Circle will post a new award entitled 'Outstanding Video/Projection Design' to increase award nominations to 25 categories. Outer Critics Circle nominations are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season.

Jesse Eisenberg to Star in His Off-Broadway Show, THE SPOILS, in London, May 27

The European premiere of The New Group's critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production, The Spoils, a razor-sharp new comedy written by and starring internationally acclaimed actor Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice), will transfer for a strictly limited season at London's Trafalgar Studios, from 27 May to 13 August, with press night on 2 June. 

Bobby Cannavale, Laura Linney, Peter Dinklage & More Set for Labyrinth's Benefit Reading of THE CHERRY ORCHARD

Labyrinth Theater Company, the award-winning, nationally renowned theater company, will stage a reading of Company Member Jonathan Marc Sherman's adaptation of The Cherry Orchard, Texas Red on April 24, benefiting the Company's new play development programs. This one-night-only event will feature Labyrinth Company Members Bobby Cannavale, Chris Chalk, Ethan Hawke, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Portia, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Yul Vazquez and guest artists Paul Dano, Peter Dinklage, Maya Hawke, Zoe Kazan, and Laura Linney.
