As a grown-up theater kid, seeing a Broadway actor out and about in the “real world” always had a bit of a “seeing a teacher in the grocery store” feeling to me.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of “The Subject Was Roses,” winner of the 1965 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a Tony Award for Best Play, on Monday, March 2, at 7 p.m.

Another Fairytale Productions will present an invite-only, industry reading of Charming: A New Musical, with music & lyrics by PARKWILD and AJ Smith, and a book by Addison Pia & Sandy Comstock.

An American in Paris will be performed in Switzerland this month. Original cast members Robbie Fairchild and Max von Essen will lead the cast as Jerry Mulligan and Henri Baurel.

The Jewish Plays Project (David Winitsky, Artistic Director) and plays2gather (Wayne Firestone, Founder) will present On One Foot (OOF): 10-Minute Playwriting Contest in partnership with Berkshire Theatre Group.

On Saturday, February 22nd, the Barrymore Film Center (153 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ 07024) will be hosting a special screening of Jon M. Chu's 2024 film, Wicked.

With everyone hyped for the premiere of the movie Wicked this month, I have been receiving a bunch of Wicked questions. I thought it might be fun to share a few fun facts about former stars of Wicked!

The best of Broadway came out to celebrate at the Belasco Theatre, where Maybe Happy Ending held its special gala performance. BroadwayWorld was there for the special night and you can check out photos from the starry guest arrivals below.

This is one of those offbeat musicals that entertains you with its unusual charm, catchy tunes, and cartoon-like characters. With the plot line featuring a talking plant that feeds only on human blood, this is not your grandmother’s kind of musical. (Unless your grandmother regularly attends the wide variety of shows performed at the Ogunquit Playhouse.)
