A Spring Celebration “Dionysia,” benefiting The New Group, is set to take place Monday, June 6 from 6:00-9:30pm at Guastavino's (409 East 59th Street).  This event will honor playwright Donja R. Love and New Group Board Members Jana Shea and Anita Waxman with the Mimi and Michael Mendelson Award for Outstanding Commitment to Theater. 

Return to Mount Kennedy – the poignant documentary film chronicling the journey of Bobby Whittaker, his half-brother Leif Whittaker and Robert F. Kennedy's son Chris Kennedy as they attempt to summit Mount Kennedy in honor of their fathers' historic climb in 1965 is earning international acclaim.  This past weekend, Return to Mount Kennedy won two awards –Grand Prize (Best Film) and BOREAL Award (Best Script) at the 36th Mountain Film Festival BBVA in Torelló, Spain.

The Television Academy tonight presented the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday night honoring outstanding artistic and technical achievement in television at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The Saturday ceremony, which kicked-off the 70th Emmys, awarded many talented artists and craftspeople in the categories of animation, scripted programming including comedy, drama and limited series. The Sunday ceremony honored performers, artists and craftspeople for excellence in variety, nonfiction or reality programming, reality competition programming, music, choreography, as well as documentary or nonfiction specials, informational series or specials.

Following its World Premiere at the Telluride Mountainfilm Festival on May 25th and Northwest premiere at Seattle International Film Festival on June 2nd, Return To Mount Kennedy has been confirmed for this year's Woods Hole Film Festival in Cape Cod at the end of July. 

Telluride Mountainfilm has announced that on May 25th, 2018 it will host the world premiere of Return to Mount Kennedy – an 80-minute documentary film that follows the sons of Senator Robert F. Kennedy and mountaineering icon Jim Whittaker as they embark on an expedition fifty years after their fathers' historic first ascent of the remote mountain.  Directed by Eric Becker, this compelling, intimate story artfully weaves past and present into a narrative that spans generations.

The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) unveils the latest in its rotating series of visual art exhibitions in the Herb & Milly Iris Gallery at SOPAC. On view from September 8 - December 8, 2016, is POLITICO: ART & THE HUMANITIES, an exhibit that explores the cultural influence of politics and the humanities through the uses of various mediums of visual art. The intersection of art and politics provides an opportunity for exploration of the ideals of truth and transparency vs. censorship and political correctness as the tug-of-war between these ideological pursuits rages on.

MC Urban Movie Channel, a premium subscription-based video streaming service exclusive to RLJ Entertainment (RLJE) created by Robert L. The T Fellowship, the ambitious Theater program created in an effort to encourage, support and develop a new generation of creative theatrical producers, is now seeing the first yield of its considerable efforts with the critical hit GROUNDSWELL, the U.S. premiere of the award-winning play by Ian Bruce and directed by Scott Elliott. Presented by The New Group, GROUNDSWELL is produced in association with Orin Wolf, the first recipient of the T Fellowship for Creative Producing.
