RETURN TO MOUNT KENNEDY Confirmed for Showings at the Woods Hole Film Festival

Following its World Premiere at the Telluride Mountainfilm Festival on May 25th and Northwest premiere at Seattle International Film Festival on June 2nd, Return To Mount KENNEDY has been confirmed for this year's Woods Hole Film Festival in Cape Cod at the end of July.

There will also be two more showings of the film this weekend in Seattle - June 9th at 6:30 PM and June 10th at 3:00 PM at the SIFF Cinema Uptown. Director Eric Becker will be on hand along with one of the film's protagonists, Bobby Whittaker.

Return to Mount KENNEDY chronicles THE JOURNEY of Bobby Whittaker, Leif Whittaker and Chris KENNEDY (Robert F. Kennedy's son) as they attempt to summit Mount KENNEDY in honor of their fathers' climb in 1965. It also takes a look back on how that initial climb came to be and the friendship that resulted - starting in 1963 with Jim Whittaker receiving the Hubbard Award from John. F KENNEDY for being the first American to summit Mount Everest, to the original 1965 Mount KENNEDY expedition that brought Jim Whittaker together with Senator Robert F. KENNEDY to 1968 when RFK ran for President and was assassinated.

Watching 'Return to Mount Kennedy' - a movie about an emotional ascent made five decades ago - 'just tore me apart,' says Jim Whittaker, who was at Kennedy's side when he died.

Bob Whittaker, who when remembering Bobby KENNEDY today shared the RFK quote, "Tragedy is a tool for the living to gain wisdom, not a guide by which to live," and added, "I think this film embodies that as well as pays homage to a great man."

Return To Mount KENNEDY features never-before-seen archival footage, KENNEDY home videos, and interviews with the original climbing team, Sub Pop Records co-founder Bruce Pavitt, and mountain guide Dave Hahn. It also features original music from Eddie Vedder as well as an incredible soundtrack.
