Cleveland Play House proudly introduces their production of How We Got On, the coming-of-age story of three teens whose passion for hip-hop and determination to succeed generates creativity, artistry and friendship. Playwright Idris Goodwin's How We Got On will delight Cleveland audiences with its uplifting message and great grooves. Directed by Jaime Castañeda, and featuring an eclectic cast of actors including Cleveland School of the Arts graduate Cyndii Johnson, How We Got On is sure to have audiences of all ages feeling the beat October 24 - November 16 in the Outcalt Theatre at PlayhouseSquare. This production of How We Got On is sponsored by Cleveland Clinic.
The 59th Annual Village Voice Obie Awards, celebrating achievement in the Off-Broadway and off-off Broadway theater, were given out at a ceremony last night at Webster Hall in Greenwich Village. The awards ceremony was co-hosted by Tamara Tunie and Hamish Linklater. The awards were presented by Betsy Aidem, Harvey Fierstein, Lena Hall, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Andy Karl, David Bar Katz, Cristin Milioti, Kelli O'Hara, Lily Rabe and Stephen Trask. Blacken The Bubble will officially open tonight, October 13, 2012 at 7:00 pm.

This play was developed through TMTC's Ladder Series in 2010 and since then it has toured in Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD and is excited to be presented in the lower east side before it heads back on the road.

accounts from community leaders such as Dean Mary Schmidt Campbell, Sandra Bowie, Legendary Actors André DeShields and Tina Shephard, Scholars Bob Vorlicky and Awam Amkpa and Reverend LaKeesha Walrond, premieres January 22 & 23 as a part of the Ladder Series presented by The Movement Theatre Company.
