Harlem Stage Presents FUND FOR NEW WORK SHOWCASE, 6/27-28

By:

Harlem Stage will present two evenings of new work by the next generation of choreographers, musicians and playwrights at its FUND FOR NEW WORK SHOWCASE, to be held June 27 and 28, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

For 19 years, Harlem Stage's Fund for New Work Showcase has provided grants for emerging artists of color. Many have gone on to become acclaimed and award winning artists.

Help us celebrate one of the most important aspects of our commissioning work at our first annual showcase featuring new works by Marjuan Canady, Maurice chestnut, Maija Garcia, Eric Lockley, Roberto Villanueva and Amma Whatt.

Dance, theater and music will be represented by these extraordinary young artists at the showcase. Each evening will conclude with a Q&A with the artists, offering the audience an opportunity to learn about their process and give feedback on the work.

Plus 100 percent of the ticket sales from each night will be awarded to one of our artists for the creation of new work! Audiences will select one performer each night, via survey, to receive the award.

The Harlem Stage Fund for New Work Program receives leadership support from The Jerome Foundation.
