The Gift Theatre Will Open its 2020 Season With THE PILLOWMAN

The Gift Theatre will launch its 2020 Season with a revival of Martin McDonagh's masterpiece The Pillowman, directed by Laura Alcalá Baker, playing February 27 - March 29, 2020 at The Gift's home at 4802 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Jefferson Park neighborhood. Tickets are currently available at www.thegifttheatre.org or by calling (773) 283-7071. Season subscriptions packages are currently available. The press opening is Monday, March 2 at 7:30 pm.

TEN will play January 9 - 18, 2020 at 4802 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Jefferson Park neighborhood. Tickets for TEN are free for Gift subscribers and $10 for the general public. A Red Orchid Theatre Will Present Chicago Premiere of DO YOU FEEL ANGER?

A Red Orchid Theatre presents the Chicago premiere of Do You Feel Anger?, written by Mara Nelson-Greenberg and directed by Ensemble Member Jess McLeod. Do You Feel Anger? runs January 23 - March 15, 2020 at A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 N Wells in Chicago. The press performances are scheduled for Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 3:00pm and 7:30pm. Single tickets for Do You Feel Anger? go on sale December 16, 2019.

The Gift Theatre Announces 2020 Season

During this year's Season Release Bash at Park & Field, Artistic Director and Co-Founder Michael Patrick Thornton and Associate Artistic Director Emjoy Gavino announced The Gift Theatre's 2020 Season will include: a revival of Martin McDonagh's masterpiece THE PILLOWMAN; the Chicago premiere of Naomi Iizuka's drama AT THE VANISHING POINT, directed by Lavina Jadhwani; and the world premiere of Jennifer Rumberger's drama THE LOCUSTS, commissioned and developed by The Gift.

Young Critics Mentorship Program Returns For Its 3rd Session At Steppenwolf Theatre

Rescripted is thrilled to announce the third session of The Key: Young Critics Mentorship Program, September 25 a?" December 4 and hosted for the second year at Steppenwolf Theater, 1650 N. Halsted. Regina Victor, founder of the online arts journalism platform Rescripted, and entertainment critic Oliver Sava created the 10-week training program for Chicago youth in arts criticism. In league with The Chicago Inclusion Project, The Key has successfully held two sessions, educating young writers on the skills and industry knowledge needed to pursue careers in arts criticism. Alumni of The Key have written for outlets like Chicago Reader, Howlround, The Windy City Times, and Rescripted.
