The groundbreaking reading series continues as Obie Award winner Metropolitan Playhouse presents its next free 'screened' reading: XINGU, a one-act play by Kimberly Wadsworth based on a short story by Edith Wharton, live streamed at no charge, with talkback to follow, on October 10th, 2020 at 8 PM, EDT. 

Billed as a dark comedy about 50-something children faced with 80-something parents in decline, IN THE CAR WITH BLOSSOM AND LEN is a semi-autobiographical play by Joni Fritz (and directed by Tony nominee Lynne Taylor-Corbett) making its New York debut at the Queens Theater. 'I write about what I know, and what I know is family,' Fritz notes in the program's poignant note about her own theater-loving father, who did not live to see this play produced.

Queens Theatre (Taryn Sacramone, Executive Director) will present the award winning play In the Car with Blossom and Len written by Joni Fritz and directed by Tony Award nominee Lynne Taylor- Corbett (Broadway's SWING!) at the Queens Theatre's Shulman Theatre located at 14 United Nations Avenue South in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Performances will begin on November 11 and run through November 20, 2016. The latest play at Bucks County Playhouse is THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE. Charles Busch wrote this play, and it opened on Broadway in 2000. Boyd Gaines directs the current production at Bucks County Playhouse. This show is full of comedy and emotion, and is definitely a night full of boisterous laughter.

THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE is the latest production at Bucks County Playhouse. The play tells the story of Marjorie Taub who lives on the upper west side of New York with her husband, Ira. Marjorie spends her time pursuing culture at lectures, museums and theatres. She is facing an epic mid-life crisis when a friend from her past visits her. Charles Busch wrote this play and it is directed by Boyd Gaines. THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE stars Marsha Mason, David Garrison, Marilu Henner, Ryan Shams and Emily Jon Mitchell.

The Joni Fritz's In the Car with Blossom and Len concert reading, featuring Dick Cavett, under the direction of Tony Award and Drama Desk Nominated director/choreographer Lynne Taylor- Corbett, will be held at Guild Hall at the John Drew Theatre (158 Main Street, East Hampton, New York). Joining Mr. Cavett for tonight's reading will be Jane Gabbert, Emily Jon Mitchell, Patricia Randell, Babs Winn and Joshua Perl.

The rotating repertory will play a four-week limited engagement at The Connelly Theater (220 East 4th Street, NYC). Performances begin tonight, July 5 and continue through Sunday, July 29. PROOF Opening Night is Tuesday, July 10 (7 p.m.). AN IDEAL HUSBAND Opening Night is Wednesday, July 11 (8 p.m.).
