The author of 'Thom Pain (based on nothing),' 'Wakey, Wakey,' and 'Title and Deed' confused and confounded audiences with those plays, while impressing them with a precision of language that earned him the title of 'a Samuel Beckett of the Jon Stewart generation.'

After a successful run of shows beginning in October of 2017, The PIT announces that it will bring back family-friendly musical 'Pluto Is Missing! A Not-So-Planetary Musical' this coming fall. The popular show, which follows the former planet Pluto on a fantastical journey through the universe, has one show left in its spring season before a summer break.

The festival takes place over three consecutive weekends: Fridays and Saturdays, today, October 17, and October 18, 24, 25 and Saturday, November 1, with multiple performances each evening. Sunday, November 2 will feature the as yet to be determined 'Best' and 'Worst' of the Fest.

The Classical Recording Foundation (CRF) is pleased to announce the 2013 winners of its twelfth annual Classical Recording Foundation Awards. Four prizes will be presented at the Foundation's Annual Awards Concert and Benefit at 7:30pm on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. The event will feature CRF Young Artist of the Year pianist Roman Rabinovich performing selections from his CD Ballets Russes (Orchid; March 2013), pianist Laura Leon performing works by CRF Composer of the Year Peter Schickele's album The Music of Peter Schickele, Samuel Sanders Collaborative Artists Award winners Hsin-Yun Huang and Sarah Rothenberg in selections from their recording Viola Viola (Bridge; November 2012); andClassical Recording Foundation Award winner, cellist Sophie Shao, performing selections from her upcoming double-CD set of J.S. Bach's Cello Suites. The proceeds from the 2013 Classical Recording Foundation Award Ceremony and Benefit will go toward the 2014 Awards.

The Opera Orchestra of New York continues its 41st season with an opera-in-concert performance of Wagner's Rienzi conducted by Music Director Laureate, Eve Queler at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. The opera, based on the life of Cola di Rienz (1313-1354), the Italian medieval politician and popular leader of the Roman people whose goal was to transform society by raising the power of the people, stars tenor Ian Storey in the title role, with soprano Elisabete Matos as Irene and mezzo-soprano Geraldine Chauvet in her US debut as Adriano. All three artists will be making their Opera Orchestra of New York debuts.
