Soulographie: Our Genocides, a cycle of 17 plays ranging in length from 20 minutes to two hours, all by Erik Ehn, each theatrically exploring the causes, effects, and various forms that genocide has taken in the 20th century, will be presented by La MaMa at the Ellen Stewart Theater, tonight, November 11-18. Over 80 theater artists from across the globe will participate.

La MaMa has announced that its facilities and theatres will re-open this week after having been closed due to Hurricane Sandy, bringing some much needed life, art and people power back to the East Village neighborhood La MaMa has called home for 50 years. Starting today, La MaMa Galleria (6 E. 1 St.) re-opens its exhibit BRAD GREENWOOD/eat the wolfe. The exhibit is on view each day from 1 to 7:30 p.m. through November 11.
La MaMa Presents Serbian National Theatre's THE DOLL SHIP, 11/29-12/2

From November 29 to December 2, La MaMa will present 'The Doll Ship' by Milena Markovic, directed by Ana Tomovic, accompanied by songs by Darko Rundek. The production, mounted by the Serbian National Theatre in 2009, renders the life of a woman artist, from childhood to old age, through an archetypal string of classic fairy tales. It won the Sterija Prize for the Best Play Production and the Critics' Round Table Award at the 54th Sterijino Pozorje Theatre Festival held in Novi Sad, Serbia, that year.
Seven Artists Selected for 2013 Sundance Institute Playwrights Retreat at Ucross Foundation

Sundance Institute today announced the seven artists selected for its 2013 Playwrights Retreat at Ucross Foundation, February 4-22, 2013. The annual writing colony at the 20,000-acre working cattle ranch outside of Sheridan, Wyo. provides a supportive environment for artists to create new work and receive guidance and reactions to it at an early stage. Under the supervision of Philip Himberg, Artistic Director of the Theatre Program, and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the Playwrights Retreat is made possible through the generosity of Ucross Foundation.

Due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy and the current lack of power at UNDER St. Marks Horse Trade Theater Group has been forced to postpone their First Annual Gotham Storytelling Festival for November 7-12. Unfortunately due to outstanding conflicts Ophira Eisenberg, Real Characters, and Blaise Allysen Kearsley's How I Learned will not be appearing in this year's festival as previously scheduled.
