SOULOGRAPHIE: OUR GENOCIDES 17-Play Cycle Set for La MaMa, 11/11-18

Soulographie: Our Genocides, a cycle of 17 plays ranging in length from 20 minutes to two hours, all by Erik Ehn, each theatrically exploring the causes, effects, and various forms that genocide has taken in the 20th century, will be presented by La MaMa at the Ellen Stewart Theater, November 11-18. Over 80 theater artists from across the globe will participate.

B. Someday Productions' presents the first show of its 2012-13 season of "Comedies about things that aren't funny" with PROBLEM CHILD by Canadian playwright, George F Walker. PROBLEM CHILD is part of the SUBURBAN MOTEL series by Walker, six plays all taking place in the same seedy motel room. Dates for the production run November 1-17, 2012. Ticket prices are $10.00-$20.00. Walking Fish Theatre is located at 2509 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, Penn.

Triple Shadow Brings 2 FROM THE SEA to La MaMa, Now thru 11/4

La MaMa E.T.C. presents the World Premiere of Triple Shadow's new theater production, 2 FROM THE SEA, composed of two solo adaptations of plays whose themes are based on stories of the sea: Holiday Memory by Dylan Thomas, performed by Seamus Maynard, and Riders to the Sea by John Millington Synge, performed by Mari Andrejco. Both are directed by Beth Skinner and feature live music composed and performed by Edward Herbst. Lighting design is by Bessie and Drama Desk-winner Paul Clay (RENT), and scenic design is by Obie Award-winner Jun Maeda. The three-week season runs tonight, October 18 through November 4 at La MaMa E.T.C., 74 East 4th Street, NYC.

Coming straight off of its extended run at the New York International Fringe Festival Encore Series, The New Colony's award-winning 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche will be added to the SoHo Playhouse, Inc. (15 Vandam Street, New York City) fall 2012 season. The play will hold a six-week run at the SoHo Playhouse from tonight, October 13 to November 20, 2012.

Ping Chong + Company's UNDESIRABLE ELEMENTS FESTIVAL Begins 10/18 at La MaMa

Since 1992, under the rubric of its Undesirable Elements series, the beloved Ping Chong + Company has created nearly 50 deeply moving theater productions that give voice to specific communities. In the creation of each piece, local participants testify to their real lives and experiences, often for the first time. Scripts are based on interviews with these participants, who then tell their stories in the final production. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the initiative, the company will offer a festival of these works-including Cry for Peace: Voices from the Congo; Secret Survivors, featuring adult survivors of child sexual abuse; and Inside/Out…voices from the disability community-October 18 through November 4 at La MaMa E.T.C. The programming will also include panel discussions, live streams of performances, and the screening of a new documentary entitled Secret Survivors: Using Theater to Break the Silence.

Tickets Go on Sale for 5 LESBIANS EATING A QUICHE at SoHo Playhouse

The newest addition to the SoHo Playhouse Inc. (15 Vandam Street, New York City) fall 2012 season, 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, is now selling tickets for its six week run on the SoHo Playhouse Mainstage. A special discount of $20 tickets will be offered for the October 13th-15th preview performances. During the regular playing schedule, $50 premium tickets and $40 general tickets will be available.

Catherine Filloux's New Play LUZ Debuts at La MaMa, Now thru 10/14

LUZ-a new play by Catherine Filloux (DOG AND WOLF, LEMKIN'S HOUSE)-will be given its world-premiere production this fall, with previews beginning tonight, September 28 prior to an official press opening October 4 at La MaMa's First Floor Theatre (74A E. 4 St.) in Manhattan. LUZ is a Watson Arts Project, which presents original theater with a particular emphasis on women. LUZ is scheduled to run through October 14.

The celebrated stage and film actor Larry Pine stars in Mr. LaBute's play LOVELY HEAD, directed by Mr. Calvani. The Oscar winning actress and four-time Tony nominee Estelle Parsons stars in Mr. Calvani's play THINGS OF THIS WORLD directed by Mr. LaBute.
