Legged Dogand Untitled Theater Company #61 are pleased to announce the return of THE PIG, OR VÁCLAV HAVEL'S HUNT FOR THE PIG, written by Vaclav Havel and Vladimir Moravek, adapted into English by Edward Einhorn. Directed by Henry Akona and featuring music from The Bartered Bride by Bed?ich Smetana (with musical arrangements by Mr. Akona), THE PIG, OR VÁCLAV HAVEL'S HUNT FOR THE PIG begins performances on Thursday, March 6 for a limited engagement through Sunday, March 29. Opening Night is Monday, March 10 at 8 PM. The performance schedule is Thursday - Saturday at 8:00 PM; Sunday at 7:00 PM, with an added performance on Monday March 10 at 8 PM. 'Daylight Precision' by Douglas Lackey takes us back to World War II and into the great moral controversies involving strategic bombing. Should we bomb cities, or military targets? The United States began by avoiding cities but ended up destroying them. Lackey shows how the change came about by tracing the careers of Generals Haywood Hansell and 'Bomb them back to the Stone Age' Curtis LeMay. Lackey writes, '700,000 civilians lost their lives because Hansell lost his command to LeMay. Hansell is the unsung tragic hero of World War II.' Theater for the New City will present this new work February 21 to March 16, directed by Alexander Harrington.

3-Legged Dog Media and Theater Group has announced the 2013-2014 season, including three 3LD/3D+ productions, a 3LD Co-Production with Untitled Theater #61, the 3LD Salon Series, and the second year of 3LD Liminal Stage.

In 1962, when Ellen Stewart invited puppet artists from Korea, La MaMa began a long love affair with all things puppetry. The form has been an integral part of La MaMa's artistic vision for more than a half-century. The institution demonstrates the depth and breadth of its commitment with the La MaMa Puppet Series 2013, which, for three weeks (November 7 - 24), fills all three La MaMa theaters with a wide array of productions-both emerging and established artists, from countries around the world, offering something for theatergoers of all ages.

Two years into its second half-century, La MaMa, under the artistic direction of Mia Yoo, continues the omnivorous work of its founder, the late Ellen Stewart. The institution's fall 2013 season is a mixture of established artists and forms La MaMa has long supported (Lee Breuer, Dario D'Ambrosi, puppetry) and celebrated artists and programs new to La MaMa (Irina Brook, Chiori Miyagawa and Alice Reagan, Pascal Rambert, Maureen Fleming, Dan Fishback and Max Steele, and many others). Money Lab is an economic vaudeville, a multi-disciplinary experiment to discover whether economic ideas can be represented through performance. It uses a mixture of theater, dance, video, music, clowning and games in order to explore everything from the darker predictions of Malthus, to the 2008 stock market collapse, to the economic cost of being an artist. Developed with the help of a crew of artists and economists, this project will culminate with a four-day performance workshop at The Brick Theater in Brooklyn.

A dark, anti-semetic joke alluding to cycling made the rounds in Europe between the First and Second World Wars and was the inspiration for a bitter absurdist cabaret called The Last Cyclist written in 1944 in the Terezin Concentration Camp by the young Czech playwright, Karel Švenk. This Chaplin-esque play was seen by many Terezin Ghetto inmates during rehearsals but it was banned by the ghetto's Council of Jewish Elders after its dress rehearsal. Švenk was sent to Auschwitz a few months later and his script was lost forever. Playwright Naomi Patz has reconstructed and reimaged Švenk's integral work and is bringing the The Last Cyclist to New York City audiences for the first time. Performances begin Today May 25 at the West End Theatre at Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew (263 W 86th St).
