Review: CHICAGO at the Kennedy Center

When the original production of Chicago opened on Broadway in 1975, its subtitle read “A Musical Vaudeville.” And as distinctively Bob Fosse-style as it was (and is in this excellent touring production of the 1996 revival), Chicago has always been a slight history of vaudeville.

The History of the Mark Hellinger Theatre and the Attempts to Bring It Back

The Times Square Church, located on 51st Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue, is an extremely storied New York City spot. Review: THE STORY OF A ROSE: A MUSICAL REVERIE ON THE GREAT WAR at NVCC'S Schlesinger Center

If you were to ask a modern day student what they know about WW1, they probably would give you a short answer seeing as it is rarely taught nowadays. Powerhouse Broadway performer Melissa Errico wants to change that and has done so brilliantly with her own creation entitled The Story of A Rose: A Musical Reverie on the Great War. Complete with a seven piece orchestra, superb arrangements by Tedd Firth, and mostly top notch technical elements, this show does a lot to teach us all about a forgotten generation of military and the time period in general.

What Was Vaudeville- A Brief History
