In the time-honoured tradition of acknowledging the loss of an important member of the theatre community, Mirvish Productions will dim the marquee lights of all its four theatres - the Royal Alexandra, the Princess of Wales, the Ed Mirvish and the Panasonic - on Tuesday, May 2nd, 8 PM, in honour of Jon Kaplan, who passed away on April 28th.

Turning children's books into Broadway musicals has become very popular over the last few years. There is just something about seeing your favorite book from childhood coming to life on stage that just brings a little bit of magic back into the lives of audiences.

In its eighteenth year, Central Ohio's longest running shorts festival presents 3 very distinct nights of new works rotating over 3 weekends culminating in the final day when all 3 nights of programming are performed.

Abby Mueller plays the title role in the Broadway company of Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, beginning tonight, March 7, 2017. Mueller, who originated the role in the first national tour of Beautiful, will be taking over for Broadway's current 'Carole,' Chilina Kennedy, while Kennedy heads to her hometown to headline the show at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theater this summer.

On December 31, 2016, Toronto lost one of its brightest and most quintessential attractions, the much loved Honest Ed's World Famous Bargain Shopping Centre. Producers Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing announced today that Abby Mueller will play the title role in the Broadway company of Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, beginning March 7, 2017. Mueller, who originated the role in the first national tour of Beautiful, will be taking over for Broadway's current 'Carole,' Chilina Kennedy, while Kennedy heads to her hometown to headline the show at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theater from June 27 - August 20, 2017. Kennedy will be joined in the Toronto production by Liam Tobin, who originated the role of 'Gerry Goffin' on tour. Kennedy will return to the Broadway production following the Toronto run of Beautiful.

Gary Oldman, Miley Cyrus, Keira Knightley and Al Pacino will not be coming to Broadway, after all.

TIME Magazine's #1 Show of the Year, MATILDA THE MUSICAL, announced today the 2017 North American tour dates after a twice-extended six-month sit-down production in Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre, which concludes its highly successful run on January 7, 2017.

The international hit musical The Bodyguard starring Beverley Knight reprising the role of Oscar-nominated superstar Rachel Marronopposite Ben Richards as Frank Farmer, Marron's bodyguard, will complete its run at the Dominion Theatre on 7 January 2017 as previously announced.

On Saturday, October 8, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and family attended a performance of MATILDA, THE MUSICAL, at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre.

David Mirvish has announced the 17 shows in the 2016 - 2017 Mirvish Theatre Season.  There will be seven shows in the Mainstage Subscription Series, three in the Off-Mirvish Subscription Series, and seven bonus shows not on subscription.
