New Perspectives Theatre Company And The School for Drama At the New School Presents The Works of Teresa Deevy

On Her Shoulders is pleased to present staged readings of three plays by Irish dramatist Teresa Deevy, directed by Kristin Heckler on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Doors open at 6:45pm for a 7:00pm start with The Play in Context by Melody Brooks, who situates the scripts in their historical time and place, followed by the readings and a post-performance Q&A with refreshments. Admission is by Donation ($10 suggested). The performance is at The New School: Starr Foundation Hall, University Center, 63 Fifth Avenue, Room UL102. Photo Flash: THE CHINESE LADY's Daniel K. Isaac, Shannon Tyo, Lloyd Suh And Ralph Pena At MOCA

On October 25th, Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) and Ma-Yi Theater Company presented an excerpt from Lloyd Suh's new play The Chinese Lady, which begins performances on Theatre Row on November 7 and will play a limited run through November 18, 2018. The two-hander stars Shannon Tyo (Bright Half Life) as 'Afong Moy' and Daniel K. Isaac ('Billions') as 'Atung'. Click here for more information and tickets.

Ebony G. Patterson Site-Specific Garden Installation and Exhibition Opening at Pérez Art Museum Miami

Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is pleased to present ...while the dew is still on the roses…, an immersive exhibition from mixed media artist Ebony G. Patterson. A survey of the artist's recent work is situated within a visually dense environment designed to recall an overgrown, decadent "night garden." This site-specific installation-replete with twilight-colored cloth wallpaper, vegetal growths sprouting from the walls and silk leaves, flowers, and vines falling from the ceiling and framing paintings-augments thirteen of the artist's large-scale works that include videos, drawings, and tapestries, six of which were created for the show.

Premieres' Inner Voices 2018, Featuring Rebecca Luker, Finn Douglas And Farah Alvin, Begins Performances Today

PREMIERES (Paulette Haupt, Artistic Director), the New York based music theater organization whose mission is "to bring new music theater to light," is pleased to announce the cast and creative teams for this season's INNER VOICES, the biennial series of solo works featuring new teams of playwrights and composers. History Matters/Back To The Future Announces Winners Of Inaugural Sallie Bingham Grant

History Matters/Back to the Future has announced the recipients of its inaugural Sallie Bingham Grant, a monetary award granted to support a faculty-mentored student-directed reading series or full production of a play or plays by a historic female playwright. Four (4) $2,000 grants will be awarded, with an additional $500 stipend for the faculty advisor of each project.
