David Richards Launches New Theatrical Management Agency RCI Theatricals

David Richards is proud to announce the launch of RCI Theatricals, a theatrical general management company. Commencing operations Monday, February 26, RCI Theatricals will supply general management services to a variety of theatrical productions including Anastasia on Broadway and on tour, as well as the upcoming Broadway revivals of Children of a Lesser God and Torch Song, and many shows in development.

American Composers Orchestra Continues 40th Anniversary Season With DREAMSCAPES

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) continues its 2017-2018 season, under the leadership of Artistic Director Derek Bermel, Music Director George Manahan, and President Edward Yim, with Dreamscapes, on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 7:30pm at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall (57th St. and 7th Ave.).

MOAD MDC Presents New York-Based Scholar Dr. Ann Pellegrini In Excess & Enchantment: Arts Of Resistance

Museum of Art and Design at Miami Dade College (MOAD MDC) will present Excess & Enchantment: Arts of Resistance, a lecture by the prominent New York-based scholar Dr. Ann Pellegrini at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 9, at the MDC Live Arts Lab. A leading expert in the field of performance studies, Pellegrini's work traverses disciplines, but a constant theme is an abiding interest in exploring how feelings are lived, experienced, and communicated, and what potential risks and possibilities result. Another is the value of art and the aesthetic for repairing democratic social life.

Undermain Announces 'Whither Goest Thou America', A Festival of New Play Readings

Undermain Theatre presents Whither Goest Thou America: A Festival of New Play Readings. Four weeks of staged readings of new American plays examining the current American Landscape. Each week of the series will focus on a different playwright and play with readings of the play by an ensemble cast and the playwright in attendance for discussion of the work every Saturday night. Audiences will have the opportunity to return each week of the series to experience a new work and author examining the American experience and asking the question, "How did we get here and where are we going?"

NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale Names Three New Members To Board Of Governors

Bonnie Clearwater, NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale director and chief curator and Stanley Goodman, M.D., chairman of the Museum's board of governors, are pleased to announce that Andrew M. Heller, Stephen B. Pierce and Walter Padow, M.D., have been named as new board members. They join the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale board of governors as the institution celebrates its 60th anniversary year and embarks on new initiatives in the areas of exhibitions, programming, membership and educational outreach.

Public Theater Announces Casting for Lynn Nottage's MLIMA'S TALE

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced complete casting today for the world premiere of MLIMA'S TALE, written by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage. Directed by Obie Award winner Jo Bonney, MLIMA'S TALE continues The Public's Astor Anniversary Season at their landmark downtown home on Lafayette Street, celebrating 50 years of new work and the 50th Anniversary of HAIR. MLIMA'S TALE begins performances on Tuesday, March 27 and runs through Sunday, May 20 in The Public's Martinson Hall, with an official press opening on Sunday, April 15.

Silk Road Rising Presents THROUGH THE ELEVATED LINE

ODC Presents Cori Olinghouse in West Coast Premiere of GRANDMA

ODC Theater is proud to present Cori Olinghouse in the West Coast premiere of GRANDMA, February 15 - 17. Best known for her practice of 'Clown Therapy,' which she defines as 'shape-shifting and a queering of the clown form,' Olinghouse in Grandma excavates the effects of television, the media and her own family lineage as portals to parody American consumerism. Sharing the bill with Grandma is Olinghouse's short film Ghost line. Performances run Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30, and may be purchased online at odc.dance/tickets or by phone at 415-863-9834.

Aimee Marcoux-Spurlock Returns With WOMEN OF BILBAO

Classical singer and musical actress, Aim e Marcoux-Spurlock, whose true-life story came to the big screen in 2017 in the acclaimed Sony release, All Saints, will take the stage of The Triad Theater in The Women of Bilbao, a collection of Kurt Weill's compositions from his 12-tone Weimar period to his more lush Broadway compositions. The repertoire includes 'Surabaya Johnny' from Happy End, 'Moon of Alabama,' from The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny and 'That's Him' from One Touch of Venus. Marcoux-Spurlock will be joined by Doug Martin as Pianist-Conductor (Baz Luhrmann's La Boh me on Broadway). Michael Feingold, noted arts critic (Village Voice), is the director.

Piano Virtuoso Stephen Hough To Make Debut At The Wallis With The Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet

Hailed as the best ensemble of its kind in the world, (Manchester Evening News), the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet make its debut at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Art (The Wallis) with one of the most distinctive artists of his generation, pianist and MacArthur Genius Stephen Hough, in a one-night-only performance in the Bram Goldsmith Theater on Saturday, February 10 at 7:30pm. The evening concert includes works by W.A. Mozart, Samuel Barber, Jacques Ibert, Francis Poulenc, and an original work by multitalented Hough.

Artist Amy Sherald Joins Baltimore Museum of Art's Board

Today the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) announced that it has named celebrated contemporary artist and Baltimore resident Amy Sherald as a new trustee on the Museum's board. Sherald will officially take her board seat on February 20, joining Board Chair Clair Zamoiski Segal and Dorothy Wagner Wallis Director Christopher Bedford, as well as 39 other active trustees guiding the institution. This diverse group is comprised of regional and national leaders in art, philanthropy, and business, including another recently named artist trustee, Adam Pendleton, who joined the board last August.

AMERICAN HWANGAP Premieres 2/1 at West Of Lenin

Steeped in the difficulty of reunification and reconciliation, American Hwangap tells the story of Min Suk Chun, who some 15 years earlier left his family in a West Texas suburb to return to his native Korea. On the occasion of his 60th birthday (hwangap), a milestone signifying the completion of the Eastern Zodiac and a type of rebirth, he returns to his ex-wife and now adult children as they struggle to reconcile their broken past with the mercurial, verbose and often exasperating patriarch now back at the head of the table. Through a tense birthday weekend filled with humor, heartbreak and half-filled expectations, this American hwangap and its aftermath bears a family not quite whole but still somehow transformed, and not quite happy but still somehow beautiful.

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. Announces Aaron Mattocks New Director Of Programming

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc., announced today that Aaron Mattocks will take over as Director of Programming, effective February 1, 2018. Mattocks replaces Martin Wechsler, who stepped down at the end of 2017 after 32 years at The Joyce, 22 of those as Director of Programming, helping to transform the organization into the world's leading presenter of dance.

Kyoung's Pacific Beat to Bring PILLOWTALK to The Tank This Winter

The Tank will present the World Premiere of PILLOWTALK by Kyoung's Pacific Beat written and directed by Kyoung H. Park and presented as part of The Exponential Festival at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues), January 11-27.
