The critically acclaimed Brits Off Broadway festival, host to the UK's most innovative and provocative theater in New York City, returns for its ninth season of New York premieres of new British theater. Presented by 59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer), Brits Off Broadway launches on Wednesday, March 27 and runs through Sunday, June 30. On Saturday November 17th Torontonians came out to support Gilda's Club of Greater Toronto at the eleventh annual It's Always Something variety show and fundraiser. The event was once again hosted by Russell Peters and featured performances by Eric McCormack, Nelly Furtado, Glass Tiger, Louise Pitre and more. All proceeds went to support Gilda's Club, which provides an invaluable support system and resource for people's who's lives have been touched by cancer. With more than 13 million adults tuning into this summer's third season of the Property Brothers and the debut of Buying & Selling ranking as HGTV's highest-rated series premiere among P25-54 in 2012, the network is green lighting a third programming vehicle, Brother vs. Brother, for hosts and twin brothers Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott. A home renovation competition series, Brother vs. Brother pits Jonathan, a licensed contractor, and Drew, a real estate agent, against each other as they each mentor a team of six talented home improvement experts vying for a grand prize of $50,000. Now through 12 August, 2012, the Criterion Theatre presents Playing The Games, a programme of work that celebrates both artistic and sporting talent featuring emerging and established actors, comedians, musicians, playwrights and Olympians. As part of the programme, Sam Hodges, Producer of the Criterion Theatre, has commissioned two new plays by emerging British playwrights Serge Cartwright and Adam Brace in response to the presence of the Olympic Games in London.
