SEEGER Starring Randy Noojin Comes to the Eisemann Center Eisemann Center Presents SEEGER, a multimedia solo show written and performed by Randy Noojin at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson, Texas on Saturday, February 2, 2018 at 7:30 pm. This show is part of Spotlight Artists shows, starring Randy Noojin, who appeared in Hard Travelin' with Woody at the Eisemann Center in 2016.

SEEGER is a critically-acclaimed, multimedia solo show about America's beloved folksinger/activist, Pete Seeger, appearing at a benefit in Washington, D.C. advocating free speech in Cuba, where he uses his signature songs, including, If I Had a Hammer, Turn, Turn, Turn, Where Have All the Flowers Gone, Bring 'Em Home, We Shall Overcome, and Guantanamera, to tell this timely story.

Noojin resurrects icon Pete Seeger, a folk singer and social activist popular during the 40's until his death in 2014. He wrote protest music in support of international disarmament, civil rights, counterculture, and environmental issues, causing his popularity to fluctuate throughout his life. This show is set in 1982 Washington, DC at a fundraiser for US - Cuban normalization. Featuring the iconic music of Seeger, Noojin explores Seeger's work, struggles and life as a folksinger and activist. Mesmerizing visuals from are projected throughout the solo performance creating an ocular experience immersing the audience in the atmosphere of Seeger's time. Noojin expertly "captures that mixture of pragmatism and optimism that made Seeger so irresistible to his many fans and followers" (Paulanne Simmons, Theatre Life). Through his brilliant script and mesmerizing visuals, Noojin emulates Pete Seeger to illustrate his personal struggles for free speech.

Randy's plays, The Complaint, The Knife Trick, You Can't Trust the Male, Unbeatable Harold, and The Memory Collection (NEA Grant for Musical Theatre) have been commissioned and produced at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre, Bloomington Playwrights Project, Circle Rep Lab, as well as nationwide and internationally; they are published by Dramatic Publishing Company. Randy holds an M.F.A. from The University of Iowa's Playwrights Workshop. The feature film based on his play Unbeatable Harold premiered on Showtime in 2011, starring Dylan McDermott, Charles Durning and Henry Winkler. His one-man show Hard Travelin' with Woody was originally produced at FringeNYC, 2011. Randy has acted in hundreds of plays regionally and in New York at Circle Repertory, La Mama E.T.C., Circle-in-the-Square, Circle Rep Lab, and The Drilling Company. Film roles include: Die Barkley, The Bench and Evil Things; television appearances: Boardwalk Empire, and Royal Pains.

The Charles W. Eisemann Center is located in the Galatyn Park Urban Center at 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson, Texas. The Eisemann Center is easily accessible from Highway 75 North taking the Galatyn Parkway/ Renner Road exit going north and the Galatyn Parkway/Campbell Road exit going south or from the DART light rail station at Galatyn Park.
