On Saturday Evening, October 12, 2019, Los Angeles Opera presented Adam Guettel's THE Light In the Piazza. A musical theater work rather than an opera, Piazza provided the audience with a nostalgic excursion to Florence and Rome in the 1950s. For opera star Renée Fleming it was a tour de force as she not only showed onlookers various stages of her character's complete change of heart, but also gave us the glorious high notes and legato singing of opera along with the snappy repartee of musical theater.

Casting is complete for LA Opera's upcoming production of The Light in the Piazza. West End musical theater stars Rob Houchen, Liam Tamne and Celinde Schoenmaker, along with celebrated soprano Marie McLaughlin, join a formidable cast led by Renée Fleming, Dove Cameron and Brian Stokes Mitchell.

Renée Fleming will reprise her starring turn in The Light in the Piazza in the United States this fall. Adam Guettel and Craig Lucas' six-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical will be directed by the UK's multiple Oliver Award-winning Daniel Evans.

From stage to screen, Broadway will be represented on TV for the week of September 16, 2019!

Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell will make his LA Opera debut in the company's upcoming production of The Light in the Piazza.

The three 'Descendants' titles in the hit Disney Channel Original Movie franchise, one that's engaged the imaginations of kids and tweens around the world, are at the center of a programming event, 'Descendants 3 Labor Day Weekend Takeover,' SATURDAY, AUG. 31, through MONDAY, SEPT. 2, on Disney Channel.

In its second week, the Disney Channel Original Movie 'Descendants 3' continues to capture imaginations and build momentum across television and music platforms, furthering Disney Channel's legacy of storytelling through music that engages kids and families. Thus far, the movie has reached 15 million Total Viewers including 3.7 million Kids 6-11 across 12 telecasts on Disney Channel. Against significant competition from popular recording artists, the soundtrack entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #7, and also ranks #1 on Billboard's Soundtrack and #1 on Billboard's Children's charts for its debut week. On iTunes, the 'Descendants 3' soundtrack is currently ranked #3 after holding the #1 spot for its first five days.

Young 'Descendants' viewers repped their block, making the premiere of 'Descendants 3' (Friday, Aug. 2, 8:00 p.m.) cable TV's highest-rated telecast in over two years among Kids 6-11, Tweens 9-14, Girls 6-11 and Girls 9-14, according to L+3 data available today.

 The adorable Hatchlings of Sony Pictures Animation's and Rovio's The Angry Birds Movie 2 are being voiced by Brooklynn Prince (The Florida Project), JoJo Siwa, Genesis Tennon, Alma Varsano, Faith Urban and Sunday Urban, Sony Pictures announced today. The Hatchlings are the baby birds that have stolen everyone's hearts and have no intention of giving them back, and can be seen in action in a sneak peek clip from the film launching today.
