SeriesFest announced today the winners for this year's Season 3 festival, nominated from over 40 official selections screened in competition in the Independent Pilot, Digital Short Series and Late Night Competition sections at the Sie FilmCenter this week.

The American Symphony Orchestra, conducted by music director Leon Botstein, will open its 55th season at Carnegie Hall on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. The four-concert Vanguard series begins with a program titled Troubled Days of Peacein which Botstein will lead the Orchestra and the Bard Festival Chorale in concert versions of two one-act operas that examine the turbulent period between the First and Second World Wars: Ernst Krenek's Der Diktator ('The Dictator') and Richard Strauss' Friedenstag ('Days of Peace').
On October 11th, 2016, Terror Films will be releasing their highly anticipated Horror Anthology, PATIENT SEVEN. The film contains a wrap-around story, written by Barry Jay Stitch (The Chosen) and directed by genre veteran Danny Draven (Ghost Month, Reel Evil). The wraparound intertwines 7 award winning, short films by filmmakers from around the globe that include: Nicholas Peterson, Paul Davis, Ómar Örn Hauksson, Dean Hewison, Erlingur Thoroddsen, Joel Morgan, Johannes Persson and Rasmus Wassberg. The cast includes: Amy Smart (Just Friends, The Single Mom's Club), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones, John Wick), and Doug Jones (Legion, Crimson Peak) among others. YouTube star Jon Cozart (Paint - creator of viral hits like Disney parody, 'After Ever After') brings his considerable talents to this week's INSIDE THE EXTRAS STUDIO, a musical episode in which he sings alongside Tony Award-winning actor Barry Bostwick (Scandal, The Rocky Horror Picture Show) and Mary Kate Wiles (The Lizzie Bennett Diaries). The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706) tonight announced winners of its Annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards in 23 categories of film, television, commercials and live theater. Winners in the film categories include 'Mad Max: Fury Road,' 'Cinderella,' 'Furious 7' and 'Pitch Perfect 2.' Television winners included 'American Horror Story: Hotel,' 'Game of Thrones,' 'Dancing With the Stars,' 'The Walking Dead' and 'Scream Queens.'
With just three weeks before The Biggest Show in the Smallest State, Rhode Island Comic Con announces a rare convention appearance by Selma Blair, widely known for her role as Liz Sherman in Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy (2004) and Hellboy II (2008). Blair's appearance rounds out a Hellboy cast reunion for the Rhode Island convention, running November 6th through the 8th at the Rhode Island Convention Center and the Dunkin Donuts Center arena. Blair joins Hellboy cast mates, Ron Perlman and Doug Jones, at the three-day convention. She is scheduled to appear Saturday November 7th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. only. In addition to her role as Liz Sherman, Blair has also appeared in Cruel Intentions, and is currently filming American Crime Story, in the role of Kris Jenner. Most recently, she co-starred with Charlie Sheen in the popular television series Anger Management as Kate Wells.
