Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC), celebrating 15 years in 2020, announces the second installment of PlayBAC, a series of videos from the organization's rich archive of live performances. This digital program offering was launched in April 2020 in response to BAC's temporary closure and cancellation of Spring 2020 season performances due to the COVID-19 health crisis. The series of never-before-seen recordings features multidisciplinary artists from around the globe performing in BAC's theaters and studios. 10 Hairy Legs, the male repertory dance company, continues its aggressive commitment to the commissioning of new works and gains first-time rights to perform Brian Brooks' solo I'm Going to Explode, now totaling 14 World Premiere Commissioned Works since our founding in 2012. Three of the four works will debut at the company's New York Season June 27-29 at New York Live Arts; the fourth dèbuting in New York following its World Premiere at Ocean County College's Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts on April 18, 2020. OCC Commissioned the work with support from the Louis Prima Foundation.

DANCE NOW announces the lineup for the 2019 Festival ENCORE! The one-night-only performance will feature the 10 choreographers/companies selected by the DANCE NOW producers for having most successfully met the 2019 DANCE NOW Challenge: to create a clear and complete artistic statement in five minutes or less for the specifics of the stage at Joe's Pub. This year's Challenge winner is Nicole Vaughan-Diaz. As the Challenge winner, Vaughan-Diaz will receive a $1,500 stipend and a weeklong creative residency at DANCE NOW Silo on Kirkland Farm in Bucks County, PA. The ENCORE! program will be hosted by Deborah Lohse (aka TruDee).

Dance Lab New York Partners With The Rockefeller Brothers Fund For A New Collaboration

Dance Lab New York (DLNY) has partnered with the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF) to provide a one-of-a-kind creative experience for an emerging choreographer. The residency will take place at The Pocantico Center in upstate New York this July, allowing the choreographer an opportunity to expand upon a prior week-long residency in June at the DLNY Summer Lab Cycle in the heart of Manhattan.
