Galactic Announces 25th Anniversary Tour

Galactic are pleased to announce their 25th anniversary tour, a celebration they're excited to share with fans across the country as they look back on their storied history together as a band. Over the past quarter century, the renowned New Orleans group have released 10 studio albums, played countless gigs and festivals throughout the world, and within the last year, partnered together to purchase and preserve the legacy of the legendary Tipitina's club. This coming February and March they will play shows across the US, with alternating guests including Anders Osbourne, Chali 2na, Jackie Green, Dirty Revival, Naughty Professor, and Southern Avenue. Joining Galactic on stage as the featured singer for this tour will be New Orleans native Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph, a singer who's musical gifts have seen her talent tapped by artists such as Michelle Williams, Faith Evans, and Norah Jones. Across November 8, 9 & 10, 2019, hundreds of contestants will gather in Brooklyn to participate in the Tenth Annual American Beatbox Championships (ABCX) for a mix of community networking, workshops, and the highly anticipated elimination tournament which will crown the best in the USA across three categories - Solo, 2v2, and Loop. This year's event will take place at multiple venues, starting with opening ceremonies at The Muse, moving to The Good Room for eliminations on Saturday, and finishing at Rough Trade NYC for finals and awards. All venues will be open to the public for all ages.

In the film, Williams reflects on the struggle of black lives in America, the role that art plays in that struggle, and the part the Apollo Theater continues to play in the cultural conversation.

Book and lyrics are by William Electric Black. Music is by Black, Valerie Ghent (arranger/keyboards for Ashford & Simpson) and Gary Schreiner. Choreography is by Jeremy Lardieri. Director is Mr. Black.

Bojangles' Coliseum will host Queen City Music Fest featuring RBRM, Dru Hill, Doug E. Fresh and Silk on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale on Friday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000, at all Ticketmaster outlets or at the Bojangles' Coliseum Box Office located at 2700 E. Independence Blvd. Tickets cost between $51.50 and $127 (plus applicable service charges) and are subject to change. Ticket prices increase $5 the day of the show.
