Review: RISING at Kennedy Center

Acclaimed Tenor Lawrence Brownlee treated his audience, at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater, with an afternoon of engaging, sensitive vocal interpretations of some of the world’s most talented African American composers.  This invigorating program, entitled Rising, increased in vocal nuance, and beautifully intonated clarity as it ran the gamut of spiritual, romantic, jazzy, contemplative, and socially conscious original compositions by this illustrious and very talented roster of creative composers.

Kentucky Performing Arts Names Dr. Tamekka Cornelius Director Of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Kentucky Performing Arts announced that Dr. Tamekka L. Cornelius has been named Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the organization. She will be responsible for developing and implementing a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program that promotes internal and external initiatives for staff and volunteers, programs, community partners, and more.

Jasmyn Fisher-Ryner, Josette Bushell-Mingo OBE and Soheb Panja Will Join the Board of Hackney Empire

Hackney Empire Creative Futures alumna, and now West End producer, Jasmyn Fisher-Ryner will join the Board, alongside Josette Bushell-Mingo OBE, award-winning actor and director and current Principal of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and Soheb Panja, the founder and editor of Field7, a new media business aimed at people working on climate solutions.  

Creative Cauldron Receives ArtsFairfax Ticket/Transportation Subsidy Grant

Creative Cauldron was awarded an ArtsFairfax Ticket/Transportation Subsidy Grant to further support “Artes Para Todos,” an initiative that provides young people attending Fairfax County Title One schools year-round after school drama and arts workshops.  Creative Cauldron was awarded an Arts Fairfax Project grant earlier this year.

Bryant Gumbel to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at Sports EMMY Awards
