The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA Los Angeles) is pleased to announce that beloved actor Dick Van Dyke will receive the Britannia Award for Excellence in Television at the 2017 AMD British Academy Britannia Awards Presented by American Airlines.  This year's event will take place on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The D23 expo kicked off today with a sizzle reel of footage from upcoming Disney films. Among the clips was a blink-and-you-missed-it look at Lin-Manuel Miranda in the upcoming Disney prequel, MARY POPPINS RETURNS.

Drury Lane recently celebrated the opening of The Gin Game, the Pulitzer-winning play The Gin Game written by D.L. Coburn, featuring Chicago legends Paula Scrofano and John Reeger, and directed by Ross Lehman. The Gin Game runs through August 13, 2017 at Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook, IL. I'm really excited about this play, it's really coming together. Musicals are never easy, but as we chip away over these last few days, I'm seeing a show come together with an infectious spirit perfect for this theatre.

On this morning's TODAY, Julie Andrews revealed she's 'a huge fan' of Emily Blunt, who will play Mary Poppins in the upcoming sequel to Andrews' iconic film. 'She's real and fun and very talented,' gushed the legendary star.

If you've seen the Johnny Depp 2004 film, 'Finding Neverland,' you're aware of the story of playwright J. M. Barrie and how his relationship with widow Sylvia Llewelyn Davies and her four boys, George, Jack, Peter and Michael, inspired him to write the classic play, 'Peter Pan.' Legendary entertainer Dick Van Dyke, who won a Tony Award for his role in Bye Bye Birdie, is now an 'honorary lawyer.'  While he never played a lawyer in any of his major TV, film or Broadway roles, he is now among a prestigious group of lawyers and judges who make music together.  Founder-Conductor Gary S. Greene, Esq., an attorney for more than four decades, awarded Van Dyke honorary membership in the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic at the orchestra's 8th Annual Concert Extraordinaire on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at UCLA Royce Hall.

On the heels of a thrilling performance by Phantom star DAVIS GAINES, the 2017 Janet and Mark L. Goldenson Broadway Concert Series at Rubicon Theatre Company continues with a concert starring Emmy Award-winner and multiple-Tony nominee NANCY DUSSAULT in MY LIFE…UPON THE WICKED STAGE. Perhaps best known to audiences as the first host of "Good Morning America," and for her co-starring role on TV on "Too Close for Comfort," Dussault's remarkable career began on the stage. Her concert includes anecdotes about Dussault's remarkable career and songs by many of her favorite composers, such as Richard Rodgers, Jule Styne, Burton Lane and Stephen Sondheim. The Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts at Ruth Eckerd Hall have announced their summer student performance will be the hit Broadway musical, Bye, Bye Birdie.   To celebrate this announcement, the Murray Theatre at Ruth Eckerd Hall presents a showing of the classic movie, starring Janet Leigh and Dick Van Dyke, for one night only on Friday, June 9 at 7 pm. Tickets are on sale now.
