TRATS Continues Season with THE RISE AND FALL OF MACONDO 

The Russian Arts Theater and Studio (TRATS) continues its 2019-2020 season with The Rise and Fall of Macondo, a physical theater performance inspired by Gabriel García Márquez's masterpiece One Hundred Years of Solitude, staged by critically-acclaimed director Aleksey Burago.

Russian Arts Theater's IN PARIS/THE WAITER AND THE SLUT Will Return After Sold-Out Run

This August, The Russian Arts Theater and Studio presents a limited encore run of the hottest cult-show of the summer: Bunin/Berberova: In Paris/The Waiter & The Slut, two gripping love stories based on the short stories of Russian emigre writers--Nobel Prize winner Ivan Bunin and the lesser-known yet captivating Nina Berberova, adapted for the stage by playwright Fred Pezzulli.

After a critically-acclaimed run in April, renowned stage director Aleksey Burago leads The Russian Arts Theater and Studio ensemble in a bold and dynamic interpretation of Anton Chekhov's timeless masterpiece The Seagull, a tragicomedy that explores the tenderness, absurdities and misunderstandings between mothers, sons, lovers, friends and servants.

The Russian Arts Theater and Studio to Present Anton Chekhov's THE SEAGULL at Pushkin Hall

This spring, seasoned Russian stage director Aleksey Burago leads a critically-acclaimed ensemble in a bold and dynamic interpretation of Anton Chekhov's timeless masterpiece The Seagull, a tragicomedy that explores the tenderness, absurdities and misunderstandings between mothers, sons, lovers, friends and servants. This production also features scenic design by Nikolay Sviridchik, a graduate of The Moscow Art Theater School and has worked at The Bolshoi and Moscow Art Theater. The cast features Michael Donaldson, Roman Freud, Kristina Korop, Alex Malyi, Luisa Menzen, Paulo Quiros, David A. Russell, Tom Schubert, Lana Stimmler, Desen Uygur, Oleksiy Varfolomiyev, Tatyana Zbirovskaya, and Di Zhu. Performances will take place April 2nd to April 19th at Pushkin Hall at 165 W86th Street in Manhattan,Tuesdays to Sundays at 8PM.

By popular demand, The Russian Arts Theater and Studio (TRATS) has extended its critically acclaimed production of The Master and Margarita, Or, The Devil Comes to Moscow, a play based on Mikhail Bulgakov's cult masterpiece The Master and Margarita, adapted by Jean-Claude van Itallie from a translation by Sergei Kobiakoff. Staged by renowned Russian director Aleksey Burago, this limited engagement will take place January 8th to January 27th at Pushkin Hall, located at the Upper West Side in Manhattan.
