The 44th Summer Mainstage Season at the Hangar Theatre closes with Xanadu, an Ancient Greek Roller-Skating Disco Musical, directed and choreographed by Devanand Janki.

After 7 years, the producing collaborative Harlem9  has played to packed houses, picking up an OBIE award along the way in 2014.  This April, Harlem9 collaborates with Pregones Theater PRTT, a Latino arts organization in the Bronx for the 2nd time to present "48HOURS IN… EL BRONX".  The two organizations first collaborated in December 2016. This year, the theme takes a tour of some of the most memorable dance clubs in Bronx history.

Based on the film inspired by true events, BREAD AND ROSES is the story of a young undocumented Mexican woman who crosses the U.S. border and risks it all in her fight for a living wage, equality and justice.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) will present Bread and Roses, with book & lyrics by Jill Abramovitz and music by Brad Alexander, the third and final offering of Dare To Be Different, the previously announced series of new musicals and one-night only special events being held at A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 West 53rd Street 10th Avenue & 53rd Street). Tony Award nominee and Grammy award winning Michael McElroy and the Broadway Inspirational Voices launches 'Broadway Our Way' , a video series celebrating some of Broadway's greatest tunes performed the BIV way,  August 1st on Youtube. The series will present Broadway songs performed in the Gospel style and will feature original arrangements by Michael McElroy and appearances by special guests.

Theatre Now New York presented the 2nd Annual Sound Bites 10 Minute Musical Theatre Festival on December 8th 2014 at the 47th Street Theatre. An after-party, sponsored by Music Theatre International, was held after at Hurley's Saloon where awards were given and merriment was had.

Over 80 writers, directors, actors and musicians will present 10 unique musical shorts at SOUND BITES: a one-night-only off-Broadway event. Behind the Bites introduces the creators of the musicals featured at SOUND BITES with sneak peeks from the rehearsal process.

Actors' Equity Association ('AEA' or Equity) and its Eastern Region Equal Employment Opportunity Committee, together with First Corinthian Baptist Church and Executive Producer and Artistic Producer Project1Voice present 'FOUR LITTLE GIRLS: BIRMINGHAM 1963,' a one night only staged reading event to be held on Monday, February 3rd at 7:30pm at First Corinthian Baptist Church (1912 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd., between West 115th & 116th Streets, Harlem NYC). This Black History Month event is free and open to the public (doors open at 6:45pm; ticketing and entry will be handled on-site, day of show, on a first-come, first-served basis) and will be sign-language-interpreted for theatregoers who are deaf or hard of hearing. A panel discussion will take place immediately following the reading.

WHY YOU BEASTING? opens tonight at the Flamboyan Theater at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center (Fringe Venue #2 - 107 Suffolk Street) Lower East Side.

On Thursday, June 28th, the ten finalists in Ken Davenport's 10-Minute Play Contest presented their plays and musicals at Davenport Studios for a live audience and judges panel that included Isaac Robert Hurwitz (NYMF Executive Producer), Joe Iconis (Bloodsong of Love, The Black Suits), Sarah Saltzberg (The 25th Annual Putnam...), and Ken Davenport (Godspell, Avenue Q). The judges and audience voted for their favorite piece of the night.

As previously announced, producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan will also be honored for their work in bringing musical theatre to a worldwide, pop-culture audience.
