STAGE TUBE: Behind the Bites: COOKIE SOIREE: A Sweet New Musical Short Part of Sound Bites 2014
Over 80 writers, directors, actors and musicians will present 10 unique musical shorts at SOUND BITES: a one-night-only off-Broadway event. Behind the Bites introduces the creators of the musicals featured at SOUND BITES with sneak peeks from the rehearsal process.
Inspired by the true story of a troupe of Texas Girl Scouts who got robbed outside a Walmart, the team behind the award winning Cookie Soiree imagines a different outcome for the kids: one filled with bloody vengeance. While a fierce trio sings through the score, the creators recollect how the crazy, sweet short came about.
Cookie Soiree: a sweet new musical short has book, lyrics, and co-direction by Justin Anthony Long, music by Garrit Guadan, concept and co-direction by Jonathan Lee, music direction by Andrew Wheeler Long and choreography by Jelani Remi. The cast features Desiree Rodriguez, Amber Coartney, Katie Boren, Joe Conti, and Eddie Egan.
