The Obie Award winning Metropolitan Playhouse (220 E. 4th Street) current production of Jacob Gordin's The Jewish King Lear, one of the foundational works of the "Golden Age of American Yiddish theater," closes on Sunday, May 27.   

Obie Award winning Metropolitan Playhouse (220 E. 4th Street) presents Jacob Gordin's The Jewish King Lear, one of the foundational works of the "Golden Age" of American Yiddish theater, in a new English translation by Ruth Gay, from April 27 through May 27, 2018. The play, which had its Lower East Side debut in 1892 and was written as a star vehicle for Jacob Adler, one of the greatest actors of the New York's Yiddish stage. Metropolitan Playhouse welcomes back director Ed Chemaly (The Easiest Way, The Spirit House) to helm the production.

ELR Productions, LLC has announced that Playwright Dan Fingerman (THE AUSTERITY OF HOPE) will team up with director Christina Roussos (MAGIC TRICK) to present the world premiere of STRANDED ON MOTOR PARKWAY; a new family drama set against the backdrop of the 1986 World Series victory, today, August 9 - 16.

ELR Productions, LLC has announced that Playwright Dan Fingerman (THE AUSTERITY OF HOPE) will team up with director Christina Roussos (MAGIC TRICK) to present the world premiere of STRANDED ON MOTOR PARKWAY; a new family drama set against the backdrop of the 1986 World Series victory, August 9 - 16. In a festival known for outrageous offerings, this play is one of the more poignant and darker NY International Fringe Festival shows. The production will run at Teatro SEA, located in the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center at 107 Suffolk Street, on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

The Long View Theater Company presents Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paul Zindel's AND MS. REARDON DRINKS A LITTLE, directed by Jeff Woodbridge. Performances began June 21st at The Shell Theater (300 West 43rd Street) in Manhattan. Check out phtoos from the production below!
