Joe's Pub at The Public presents the North American premiere of Murray Hill: About To Break, a new comedy and theatrical event, running September 20-22 and 27-29. About To Break is written and performed by Hill and directed and developed with Tony Award-winning lyricist, writer, and director Scott Wittman. Renowned as a comic host around the world, this new show is a departure, putting Hill center stage in the first major dedicated solo show of his long, storied career. Musical direction is by Paul Leschen with original music by Hill with Wittman, Marc Shaiman, Kyle Forrester, Eric Kornfeld, Jesse Elder, and Leschen.
Film Composer Nan Schwartz to Release New Symphonic Music Album

The world premiere recording of original symphonic music by Grammy® Award-winning composer Nan Schwartz has been released on the Divine Art label (DDA 25165, March 16, 2018). Kevin Purcell conducts the 83-piece Bratislava Studio Symphony Orchestra (Slovakia) and Synchron Stage Orchestra (Vienna). The recording features four works by Ms. Schwartz: Aspirations, Perspectives, Romanza and Angels Among Us, with solo contributions from the Who's-who of New York's finest jazz musicians.

Historic Club Harlem will roar back to life as City College Center for the Arts (CCCA) presents a special three-week return engagement of On Kentucky Avenue: A Celebration of Atlantic City's Famed Club Harlem at Aaron Davis Hall in New York beginning on Thursday, July 12. The show, which thrilled audiences when it premiered at Aaron Davis Hall in 2016, offers viewers a glimpse inside the celebrated nightclub that was the center of nightlife in Atlantic City's segregated Northside beginning in the 1930s. On Kentucky Avenue: A Celebration of Atlantic City's Famed Club Harlem was created by Jeree Wade, written by Adam Wade and Ty Stephens, and directed by Lee Summers.
Paramount Pictures to Take on Sammy Davis Jr. Biopic Project

According to Deadline, the biopic about Sammy Davis, Jr. now has been set up at Paramount Pictures, where producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has his overall deal. The project is on the development fast track, soon to be hiring a writer and a director to make the feature film about the dancer-singer-actor-musician to becoming a reality.

This Friday, 15 June, Luxembourg saw its capital host the festival known as Fete de la Musique, a national event that lasts six days and which welcomes to the streets countless musicians and bands. Most of the performances took place in the centre of Luxembourg City, yet four other neighbourhoods had their own points of interest, bringing the total number of stages up to twenty-six. The Grand Duchy might be small but, for what it lacks in size, it makes up in a vibrant and outgoing international community.

Sarasota Opera's Da Capo Society, the only young patrons group, ages 21 - 45, dedicated to a single arts organization in Sarasota, will host The Wizard of Oz themed costume contest Thursday, June 7th at 6pm to celebrate the launch of the new season of "Classic Movies at the Opera House." Launched in 2017, the "Classic Movies at the Opera House" series will occur twice monthly starting Thursday, June 7 and will include timeless films designed to be enjoyed on the big screen in the elegance of the Opera House. Each presentation will begin at 7:30pm.
