Vocalist Jan Daley, who resumed her career last year after a nearly 20-year absence, landing two bestselling CD's on the Billboard Jazz Chart, will perform her new show, "An Evening With Jan Daley," at the popular Martinis On Fourth in San Diego, on Wed., Sept. 12 at 8:00 P.M.

Daley broke into television at a young age and with her glamorous blonde looks and talent, was in quick demand for "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson, the "Merv Griffin Show," the "Dean Martin Show," and "The David Frost Show," and worked with such show business legends at Jimmy Stewart, Jack Benny, George Burns, Anthony Quinn, Louis Armstrong, Mickey Rooney, Glenn Campbell, and of course Bob Hope, with whom she is most associated. Her most treasured career highlight was as singing star of the annual Bob Hope Christmas Tours, singing to 40,000 GIs in Vietnam and around the world. She has also toured internationally opening for such comedians as Don Rickles, David Brenner and Rodney Dangerfield.

Daley enjoyed a successful acting career as well, appearing in numerous films and TV shows, and has been in more than 150 on-camera commercials. She sang Arthur Hamilton's "Till Love Touches Your Life" in the film "Madron," which was nominated for both the Academy Award and Golden Globe as "best original song." She has a new song in the upcoming film "The Ride."

Daley took a long break to raise her daughter and concentrate on songwriting, but last year she was unexpectedly signed by former Motown producer and writer Michael B. Sutton, and her first album, "The Way of a Woman," containing many of her own original songs, hit No. 1 on Billboard's Traditional Jazz Chart and No. 2 on their regular Jazz Chart, remaining on both charts for 16 weeks. The follow-up CD, "Home For Christmas," also made Billboard's Jazz Top 10. She is currently finishing a new one for release later this fall.

Miss Daley's new show includes songs from her hit album, as well as highlights of her recent concert, "Broadway Lights Up the Silver Screen." It virtually has something for everyone-jazz, American Songbook, Broadway, and a little boogie woogie to boot, as well as some funny anecdotes about her years traveling with Bob Hope.

Martinis On Fourth is located at 3940 Fourth Ave. in San Diego. The phone for reservations is 619-400-4500
