Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for Charles Randolph-Wright's world premiere drama Love in Afghanistan. Randolph-Wright, a Resident Playwright through Arena Stage's American Voices New Play Institute and director of Motown the Musical currently on Broadway, joins forces with director Lucie Tiberghien (MCC Theater's Don't Go Gentle) to bring to life the tale of two fantastically different people discovering love in the most unlikely of places: war-torn Afghanistan. One, an emerging hip-hop artist, the other, a high-level Afghan interpreter, both fight to navigate the pitfalls of romance, religious differences and political unrest. Love in Afghanistan runs tonight, October 11-November 17, 2013 in the Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle.

On the eve of the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s historic March on Washington, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company will host From Emmett Till to Trayvon Martin: A Town Hall Meeting on Black Bodies and American Racism, to take place on Friday, August 23, 2013, from 7-10pm.

Woolly has done justice to this ambitious piece and I, for one, am happy they have included a truly dramatic play in its season - particularly one as compelling as this.

Everyman Theatre has announced the addition of Beth Hylton to its esteemed Resident Acting Company. Ms. Hylton joins ten other noted actors in Everyman's Resident Acting Company. Everyman Theatre draws on its Resident Company of professional actors when casting for productions each season. The Resident Company establishes a special intensity born of working together season after season to create vivid, dynamic, and layered relationships on stage.

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company will remount the company's smash-hit production of Bruce Norris' Clybourne Park from July 21 - August 14, 2011. The entire original cast is scheduled to return for the production, again directed by Woolly Mammoth Artistic Director Howard Shalwitz.
