Robin Becker Dance to Showcase New Work at CCCA, 12/8

?City College Center for the Arts (CCCA), NYC's newest center celebrating the diverse artistic voice of its community, presents a work in progress showing of Robin Becker Dance's Sharing the Breath as part of their inaugural 2014-2015 Season. Home to Aaron Davis Hall, CCCA audiences will have the opportunity to experience Becker's residency work, which has been created during a CUNY Dance Initiative residency at CCCA, on December 8, 2014.

The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, announces the winners of the fifth annual Choreographers of Color Award: Jennifer Archibald, Abdul Latif and Stephanie Martinez. This announcement follows a national call for artists to submit applications, which began in July.

Aimed at guiding patrons through themes of discovery, understanding and cultural celebration, City College Center for the Arts (CCCA), home to Aaron Davis Hall, is renewing the artistic expression of the campus's student body in their inaugural 2014-2015 season. NYC's newest center celebrating the diverse artistic voice of its community, CCCA will begin their season with a presentation of, Elisa Monte Dance, tonight, October 23, at Aaron Davis Hall, 7:00 p.m. Monte, an emotionally charged and highly acclaimed dance company that champions individuality, will present Run to the Rock, Treading, Audentity and excerpts from Feu Follet for one night only.

Calpulli Mexican Dance Company brings its celebrated repertoire to Aaron Davis Hall on the historic campus of the City College of New York on Saturday November 1st, 2014 at 2PM and 7PM. The program includes a vibrant celebration of Mexican traditions in dance and live music. The company will present Dia de los Muertos (Day of the dead), a captivating work that evokes the unending relationship between the living and the departed with music and dance as the language that transcends. Passionate live music, amusing characters, breathtaking dance, and larger-than-life surprises for all ages.
