N.E.S.T (Now Enjoy Streaming Theater) by Monk Parrots  will present the Streaming Premiere of After an Earlier Incident (A Dyschronic Romeo and Juliet), an experimental play exploring the concept of hauntology, i.e., the past inside the present.

Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) has announced the second-ever recipients of the DGF Writers Alliance Grants. These Grants provide $5,000 to both a non-profit theater's production of a new work and $5,000 to the writer or group of writers whose work is being produced. Gary Garrison, who serves on both the DGF Advisory Board and the Writers Alliance Grant selection committee, said: "The DGF's Writers Alliance Grant is the perfect combination of support for both writer AND theater. It acknowledges that the writer has a story that should to be told while also smartly pointing to the theater that should be telling it."

As a play in process, "Things As They Are" needs to be reexamined with an eye for sharpening and tightening the dialogue and ascertaining whether all the visual and audio stimuli are necessary to tell the tale. For those who like to see new works, to discuss and add in-put into the development process, Playwrights Local and this play offer that opportunity.

On November 22, 2014, twelve-year-old Tamir Rice was shot at close range by police officer Timothy Loehmann outside the Cudell Recreation Center on Cleveland's near west side. Tamir died the next day.

Purpose is to develop "a playwrights' center," which means they will "develop  plays (and playwrights), produce plays, and otherwise provide our dramatists with a long-needed home."
